About this Chief of Staff, AI Automation role at TIFIN

TIFIN · Onsite · Boulder, CO

WHO WE ARE

TIFIN builds the AI operating layer for wealth. Our platform delivers agentic workflows across the industry’s core personas—investors, advisors, investment teams, and operations—so financial institutions can move faster, serve more clients, and deliver better outcomes with the same (or fewer) resources. We combine finance-native AI, specialized data, and enterprise-grade controls to deploy secure, compliant capabilities into real production environments.

WHAT SETS US APART

  • Speed: We build and ship quickly—MVPs in ~3 months, production-ready products in ~6–12 months.
  • Track Record: Prior exits include 55ip (acquired by J.P. Morgan) and Paralel Technologies
  • Strategic Partners: Partners include J.P. Morgan, SEI, Franklin Templeton, Morningstar, FactSet, Broadridge, Motive Partners and Tectonic Ventures.
  • World-Class Team: Complimentary expertise across AI and financial services, with experience from Google, Microsoft, Uber, PayPal, eBay, BlackRock, LPL, Franklin Templeton, Morgan Stanley, Broadridge and more.

OUR VALUES

  • Grow at the Edge. We are driven by personal growth fueled by a beginner’s mindset. We get out of our comfort zone and keep egos aside. With self-awareness and integrity we strive to be the best we can possibly be. No excuses.
  • Understanding through Listening and Speaking the Truth. We communicate with authenticity, precision and integrity to create a shared understanding. We identify opportunities within constraints and propose solutions in service to the team.
  • I Win for Teamwin. We believe in staying within our genius zones to succeed and taking accountability for driving results. We are all individual contributors first and always thinking about what can be better.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

We are looking for a highly capable, technically inclined operator to work directly with our Founder & Executive Chairman, Dr. Vinay Nair, on some of TIFIN’s highest-priority initiatives.

This is not a traditional Chief of Staff role. We are looking for someone who combines the judgment and range of a strong CEO Chief of Staff with the technical curiosity and hands-on ability to build with AI.

The right person will be equally comfortable working through a complex problem with the CEO, driving a cross-functional initiative, and sitting down to prototype an agentic workflow themselves.

THE ROLE:

Partner directly with the CEO

  • Work closely with the CEO to translate priorities and ideas into clear plans, owners, and execution
  • Own high-priority projects that span products, businesses, and functions across TIFIN
  • Rapidly get up to speed on new problems, develop a point of view, and move from ambiguity to action
  • Anticipate issues, dependencies, and opportunities, increasing the speed and quality with which CEO priorities move through the organization

Build with AI

  • Personally build and prototype AI-powered and agentic workflows that improve how TIFIN operates
  • Identify work that can be redesigned using AI rather than simply layering AI onto existing processes
  • Translate loosely defined business problems into working AI prototypes and workflows, experimenting quickly to determine what is genuinely useful
  • Partner with product and engineering teams when an initial prototype or workflow should become a more scalable solution

Own and Execute

  • Take ownership of important initiatives that do not fit neatly within one existing function
  • Work across product, engineering, commercial, and operations to move complex work from idea through execution
  • Create structure around ambiguous problems, establish clear owners and timelines, and maintain accountability
  • Do the work required to move an initiative forward — whether that means research, analysis, building a workflow, preparing a recommendation, or resolving an operational blocker

WHO YOU ARE:

  • You are an exceptional operator who is also genuinely technical — not necessarily because of a particular degree or title, but because you know how to use technology to build and solve problems
  • You have hands-on experience building with modern AI tools, LLMs, agentic systems, automation platforms, or adjacent technologies
  • You can independently prototype workflows and solutions rather than relying entirely on engineering resources to turn an idea into something tangible
  • You have experience working closely with a founder, CEO, or senior executive
  • You have strong judgment and can quickly understand unfamiliar businesses, products, and problems, form a point of view, and act on it
  • You can turn loosely defined objectives into concrete action while managing multiple high-priority workstreams
  • You communicate clearly and can engage credibly with executives, engineers, investors, partners, and other senior stakeholders

Your background could include Chief of Staff, business operations, product, engineering, AI, consulting, founding or operating a startup, or a combination of these. We care more about the combination of technical capability, judgment, and execution than a conventional career path. Former founders and operators who have built technical products or businesses may be particularly well suited to this role.

LOCATION

This role is based in the Boulder/Denver area and is intended to be highly in-person, with an expectation of working from the office approximately four to five days per week.

Relocation assistance is available for exceptional candidates currently outside of the area.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS PACKAGE:

$200,000 - $250,000 USD, commensurate with experience.

In addition to cash compensation, a meaningful equity stake is a significant part of the overall package. Package also includes benefits program eligibility, which includes 90-100% medical, vision and dental coverage for you and your dependents, retirement benefits and flexible PTO. See our Careers page for more details.

Please note that we are not able to provide visa sponsorship for this role. Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
