Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Responsibilities

  • Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans
  • Provide occupational therapy interventions to improve activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, and functional independence
  • Monitor patient progress and communicate updates to the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques and safety practices
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory and facility standards
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, rehabilitation professionals, and interdisciplinary care teams
  • Support patient-centered goals to maximize recovery and independence

Qualifications

  • Current and active California Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license
  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
  • Skilled nursing facility (SNF), rehabilitation, or post-acute experience preferred but not required
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply
