Napa Valley Care Center is seeking an experienced and motivated Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to lead our dietary services team. Position Summary

The Certified Dietary Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the dietary department to ensure residents receive nutritious, appetizing meals that meet physician orders, regulatory requirements, and individual preferences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of the dietary department
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and facility regulations
  • Oversee meal planning, food preparation, and service delivery
  • Monitor food quality, sanitation, and safety standards
  • Collaborate with the Registered Dietitian and interdisciplinary care team
  • Assist with menu development and dietary modifications
  • Supervise, train, and support dietary staff
  • Maintain inventory and food supply controls
  • Conduct quality assurance audits and implement process improvements
  • Promote resident satisfaction through excellent customer service and dining experiences
  • Ensure documentation and departmental records remain accurate and compliant

Qualifications

Required

  • Current Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of dietary regulations, food service operations, and sanitation standards
  • Experience supervising dietary or food service staff
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills

Preferred

  • Experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Long-Term Care, Rehabilitation Center, Healthcare Facility, or Assisted Living Community
  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets and nutrition services
  • Experience with healthcare dietary compliance and survey readiness
