What you’ll contribute to
An exciting opportunity became available for a Certification Engineer to join the Product Planning Division in a max term role for 7 months.
The Product Planning & Development (PPD) Division is responsible for planning, coordination and execution of all product activities in order to ensure new products are optimised to meet the future needs of customers.
The Certification Engineer is primarily responsible for ensuring that all vehicles sold and distributed in the Australian market comply with applicable regulatory requirements and are appropriately registered within relevant government certification systems.
This is a Max term role for 7 months based in Altona North, with flexible working arrangements on offer.
How you’ll make an impact
Implement and maintain certification processes and procedures in accordance with established policies to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and statutory requirements.
Support the development and continuous improvement of certification processes, helping to deliver vehicle compliance outcomes in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Prepare, manage, and maintain certification documentation, including applications, test reports, government submissions, approvals, and compliance certificates.
Review documentation relating to Australian Design Rules (ADRs), UN Regulations (UNRs), and government certification requirements, while liaising with stakeholders to communicate regulatory changes and minimise compliance risk.
Assist with project studies evaluating the introduction of new regulations, including feasibility assessments and analysis of potential impacts on Toyota's products and operations.
Contribute to project planning and scheduling activities, monitor performance against targets, and recommend corrective actions to support the successful delivery of compliance and certification objectives.

Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience in the automotive industry with exposure to vehicle homologation, certification, and regulatory compliance.
Strong knowledge of Australian Design Rules (ADRs), vehicle certification requirements, and the Australian regulatory framework.
Experience interpreting and applying Australian and international vehicle regulations and standards, including UNECE (ECE/UN) Regulations.
Demonstrated ability to assess regulatory requirements, support certification submissions, and ensure vehicle compliance with applicable standards.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
