This role is responsible for aligning material readiness with production schedules, proactively identifying supply risks, coordinating purchased, customer-supplied, and non-standard parts, and driving shortage resolution to help maintain production continuity and support on-time builds.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Fontaine Modification is seeking a Supply Planner to support material planning and availability for production. This role is responsible for aligning material readiness with production schedules, proactively identifying supply risks, coordinating purchased, customer-supplied, and non-standard parts, and driving shortage resolution to help maintain production continuity and support on-time builds.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and manage material requirements from project launch through ongoing production support.
  • Coordinate purchased, customer-supplied, and non-standard parts to ensure material readiness aligns with production schedules.
  • Monitor supplier commitments, follow up on open requirements, and maintain accurate ERP and planning system data.
  • Communicate material availability, shortages, risks, and constraints to production, inventory control, purchasing, sales, and management.
  • Drive shortage resolution, expedite critical materials, and help reduce production disruption caused by supply constraints.
  • Support engineering change implementation by coordinating material impact, timing, and production readiness.
  • Partner cross-functionally to identify root causes, resolve material planning issues, and improve supply planning processes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3–5 years of experience in material planning, production planning, purchasing, buying, or supply chain coordination.
  • Ability to interpret bills of material, part requirements, and basic part drawings.
  • Understanding of MRP, forecasting, inventory control, purchasing, and production planning processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ERP or business system tools.
  • Strong communication, follow-up, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, operations, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, automotive, truck equipment, or production support environment.
  • Experience supporting custom builds, non-standard parts, customer-supplied material, or engineering change coordination.

SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE:

Success in this role requires strong follow-up, urgency, attention to detail, and the ability to work across departments to resolve material constraints before they impact production. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, comfortable managing changing priorities, and focused on supporting production flow through accurate planning and timely communication.
