Position Summary
We have an opportunity for a Buyers within our Rolls-Royce UK&I Early Lifecycle Business.
In this role, you will contribute to creating the procurement strategy and selecting the supplier, negotiate the best deal, agree the contract, and then manage the contract ensuring that we have a high performing supply chain. The performance of our external supply chain is critical to all our business metrics, and the Rolls-Royce Procurement team are central to Rolls-Royce success.
You will be part of the Strategic Procurement team, buying parts that go into our Early Lifecycle engine programmes. The team works across multiple commodities in both the direct and indirect procurement space, operating within cross functional project teams.
What you will be doing
Negotiate deals and select high performing suppliers that meet our cost, quality, delivery, management and technology objectives.
Create procurement strategies that will draw value for Rolls-Royce.
Work with the business units to deliver a high performing supply chain.
Work with Group business services to transact on our behalf.
Manage any day-to-day tasks working within our brand-new system - Ivalua.
Position qualifications
Experience working as a buyer in a regulated or complex industry is required.
Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills with focus on drawing value for the company.
A proven track record of delivering results. Business and commercial acumen.
A degree in a relevant field or CIPS qualification – desirable.
You are motivated, have a can-do attitude and can work in a range of teams.
Global outlook and exposure to different challenges, cultures and ways of working. Willingness to learn and be part of a dynamic, diverse team.
Good planning / project management skills.

To work for the Rolls-Royce Defence Early Life Cycle business, an individual has to hold a Security Check clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in place. Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets we can only progress applications from individuals who are a UK national or, in MOD and Government body approved cases, a dual national.
