About this Bilingual Insurance Specialist/ Administrative Receptionist - Orthopedics role at Staffing for Doctors

We are seeking an upbeat, cheery, and production-driven Insurance Specialist & Medical Receptionist to support our client's fast-paced Orthopedics, Pain Medicine, and PM&R practice. The ideal candidate has proven high-volume inbound/outbound call experience with exceptional patient conversion skills, deep expertise in complete insurance verification and patient financial education, and daily proficiency in eClinicalWorks (eCW).
Core Responsibilities
- High-Volume Phone Management: Serve as the primary phone contact, handling a heavy daily volume of inbound and outbound calls targeting new patients, follow-ups, missed opportunities, and inactive accounts.
- Patient Conversion & Scheduling: Convert incoming inquiries and follow-ups into confirmed appointments, consistently managing calendars and documentation to meet schedule capacity goals.
- End-to-End Insurance Verification: Execute complete eligibility checks; interpret active coverage, deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket maximums across Commercial plans (Aetna, Cigna, Humana, etc.), Medicare, and Workers' Comp/PIP.
- Patient Financial Counseling: Clearly, warmly, and confidently communicate out-of-pocket costs and financial responsibilities to patients directly over the phone prior to their appointments.
- Referral & Business Support: Support business development efforts by building positive relationships with patients, physician offices, attorneys, and medical-legal referral sources.
Requirements
Experience: 2+ years of high-volume phone reception, patient engagement, or phone sales experience in a US-based medical practice.
EMR Proficiency: Hands-on experience navigating and scheduling within eClinicalWorks (eCW).
Insurance Knowledge: Strong background in full-process insurance verification, authorization, and financial breakdown calculations.
Communication: Exceptional, cheerful, and upbeat English phone presence with strong objection-handling and de-escalation skills.
Environment: Fully compliant private home office setup equipped with high-speed internet, power backup, and a noise-canceling headset.
Please note that this is a full-time contractor position (40 hours per week) with a starting pay rate of $6 per hour depending on skillset and experience. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm EST.
