About this Associate Consultant, Primary Research role at Mintel

As a part of the Consulting team, you will be asked to demonstrate skills in critical thinking (with an emphasis on quantitative prowess), display poise under pressure, and have the ability to manage multiple projects. You will need strong data skills and an understanding of primary research methodologies, or experience cleaning larger data sets. In day-to day workflow, you will be paired with and learn from seasoned Consultants on the team.
You will have the opportunity to play a key role in supporting client engagements, conducting in-depth research, and contributing to the development of actionable recommendations.
What You Will Be Doing:
Data Synthesis: Rapidly organizing information, identifying patterns, drawing conclusions, and succinctly communicating key points in our data to senior consultants on our team, and eventually clients
Data Visualization: Data Visualization: Translating knowledge visually in larger data files and presentations using custom quantitative and qualitative datasets
Multi-Tasking: Managing a variety of unique custom projects simultaneously, thus practicing efficient time management skills.
Collaborating: Working collaboratively across several different Mintel divisions such as sales, marketing, research analytics, and operations to deliver best-in-class custom work to our clients.
Engaging with Clients: You will have the opportunity to sit in on client calls, understand client objectives and as your career grows, act as a key point for clients.
Conducting Market Research: Assisting in designing research methodologies tailored to meet client needs and project objectives. Supporting research projects across multiple industries from kick-off to completion, including: survey programming, fielding, data cleaning, and charting. Staying updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor landscapes.
Who We are Looking For:
- We're looking for a curious, commercially-minded graduate/research professional who is excited about building a career in consulting and delivering impactful insights that help clients make better decisions.
- The ideal candidate will have internship or professional experience in custom primary research, market research, consumer insights, consulting, or a related field. Recent graduates with relevant internship experience and a strong interest in pursuing a consulting career are also encouraged to apply.
- You thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and can confidently manage multiple projects while maintaining a high standard of quality and meeting deadlines. You combine strong analytical thinking with exceptional attention to detail and are able to translate complex data into clear, compelling stories.
- A natural curiosity and a passion for understanding the "why" behind consumer behaviour, market trends, and business challenges. Strong interpersonal skills, with the confidence to ask thoughtful questions that uncover deeper client needs and objectives.
- The ability to create impactful presentations and tailor communication styles to different audiences, including clients and internal stakeholders.
- A collaborative mindset, genuine enthusiasm for learning, and a commitment to contributing positively to team culture and success.
