We are seeking a data-driven Analyst (Associate Consultant) to play a pivotal role in our journey to become the world’s no 1 payments supply chain consultancy.
Job Overview
CMSPI Associates play an integral role in our client-facing consulting teams, delivering detailed and investigative work that helps some of the world’s largest merchants optimize their payments strategies. Working alongside senior associates and engagement managers, you will analyse complex client datasets, evaluate current payment arrangements, and identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve performance, and enhance customer payment experiences.
Following CMSPI’s methodologies and industry best practices, you will develop actionable recommendations supported by robust analysis, benchmarking, and market research. You will contribute to client presentations, supplier negotiations, RFPs, and strategic payment initiatives while building deep expertise across the payment's ecosystems, including acquiring, gateways, network service provisioning, alternative payment methods, fraud, and payment optimization.
This role combines analytical problem-solving, commercial thinking, and client interaction, providing a strong foundation for a career in payments consulting in a truly global company.
Responsibilities and Duties
As a key member of the consulting team, your responsibilities will include:
- Analyse complex payment datasets, commercial arrangements, and payment processes to identify opportunities for clients to reduce costs, improve performance, and optimize customer payment experiences.
- Work with deciders at leading international merchants, payment providers, and financial institutions on complex commercial and technology-driven projects across Europe and beyond.
- Produce high-quality analysis and client deliverables using Excel, PowerBI, SQL-Queries, presentations and written reports, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Apply CMSPI methodologies, benchmarking data, market intelligence, and analytical thinking to develop evidence-based recommendations for our clients.
- Support client workshops, presentations, and strategic discussions with senior stakeholders by providing analytical, technical, and commercial insights.
- Contribute to supplier negotiations, strategic sourcing initiatives, and tender processes through detailed analysis, business case development, and preparation of client-facing documentation.
- Review commercial arrangements, pricing schedules, and service-level agreements (SLAs) to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Take ownership of project workstreams, collaborating closely with Senior Associates and Enagement Managers with guidance from Directors and VPs, to ensure successful project delivery and adherence to deadlines.
- Develop expertise across the payments industry, including acquiring, network service provision, gateways, alternative payment methods, fraud, and emerging payment technologies.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of CMSPI methodologies, analytical tools, and internal processes to enhance efficiency and client value.
- Participate actively in professional development initiatives, training programmes, and knowledge-sharing activities for the wider business.

Dabei wirkst du an Kundenpräsentationen, Dienstleister-Verhandlungen, Ausschreibungen und strategischen Payment-Initiativen mit und baust gleichzeitig eine tiefgehende Expertise entlang des gesamten Zahlungsökosystems auf – darunter Acquiring, Payment Gateways, Netzbetrieb, alternative Zahlungsmethoden, Betrugsprävention sowie die Optimierung von Zahlungsprozessen.

Verantwortlichkeiten und Aufgaben
Als wichtiges Mitglied unseres Consulting-Teams gehören zu deinen Aufgaben:
- Analyse komplexer Zahlungsdaten, kommerzieller Vereinbarungen und Zahlungsprozesse, um Potentiale zur Kostensenkung, Performance-Steigerung und Verbesserung des Zahlungserlebnisses für unsere Kunden zu identifizieren.
- Zusammenarbeit mit Entscheidungsträgern führender internationaler Handels-, E-Commerce-, Zahlungs- und Finanzdienstleistungsunternehmen bei komplexen kommerziellen und technologiegetriebenen Projekten in Europa und darüber hinaus.
- Erstellung hochwertiger Analysen und Projektleistungen unter Einsatz von Excel, Power BI, SQL-Abfragen, Präsentationen und schriftlichen Berichten – stets mit hohem Qualitätsanspruch und ausgeprägter Detailgenauigkeit.
- Anwendung der CMSPI-Methodik, von Benchmarking-Daten, Marktkenntnissen und analytischem Denkvermögen zur Entwicklung fundierter, datenbasierter Handlungsempfehlungen für unsere Kunden.
- Unterstützung von Kundenworkshops, Präsentationen und strategischen Diskussionen mit senioren Stakeholdern durch analytische, technische und kommerzielle Expertise.
- Mitwirkung an Dienstleister-Verhandlungen, strategischen Beschaffungsinitiativen und Ausschreibungsprozessen durch detaillierte Analysen, die Entwicklung von Business Cases sowie die Erstellung kundenorientierter Dokumentationen.
- Prüfung kommerzieller Vereinbarungen, Preisstrukturen und Service Level Agreements (SLAs), um Risiken, Optimierungspotentiale und wirtschaftliche Chancen zu identifizieren.
- Eigenverantwortliche Übernahme von Projektarbeitspaketen in enger Zusammenarbeit mit Senior Associates und Engagement Managern sowie unter Anleitung von Direktoren und Vice Presidents, um eine erfolgreiche Projektdurchführung und die Einhaltung von Deadlines sicherzustellen.
- Aufbau fundierter Fachkenntnisse in der Payment-Branche, insbesondere in den Bereichen Acquiring, Netzbetrieb, Payment Gateways, alternative Zahlungsmethoden, Betrugsprävention sowie neue Technologien im Zahlungsverkehr.
- Beitrag zur kontinuierlichen Weiterentwicklung der CMSPI-Methodik, Analyse-Tools und internen Prozessen, um Effizienzsteigerungen und zusätzlichen Mehrwert für unsere Kunden zu schaffen.

Requirements
