The role is for Analyst in Central Merchandising team part of Finance Decision Support & Analytics. The role involves supporting VP, Merchants & Finance teams. Activities would include but not limited to following

Job Description:
The Merchandising Finance team provides financial analysis, insights and reporting to identify drivers of business performance and support informed decision-making.
As part of the team, the candidate will deliver recurring reporting and insights, rapid decision support, and in-depth analytical projects by combining financial expertise, retail/business understanding and analytical tools.
Key Responsibilities:
This role will support analysis of total company Sales, Margin & Inventory performance across Product and Geography. Key workstreams include:
Design, develop and deliver insightful financial reports, dashboards (Power BI, MicroStrategy Dossier, Microsoft Excel or Google Looker) and analyses for executive leadership.
Perform financial modeling and analysis to support monthly forecasts, annual planning, Board of Director meetings and Earnings Call preparation.
Analyze financial performance and identify key drivers of variances versus forecast, plan and Last Year.
Provide proactive and timely analysis highlighting risks, opportunities and emerging trends to support business decisions.
Develop and enhance financial models used for forecasting, performance measurement and variance analysis.
Solve complex business problems by combining financial, operational and analytical perspectives and communicating actionable insights.
Drive process improvements through reporting automation, enhanced analytics, and evolution of forecasting and planning capabilities.
Collaborate cross-functionally, leveraging relevant data, business knowledge and resources to deliver projects and identify and implement improvement opportunities.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field with 2+ years of experience in an analytical role or Engineering / Statistical degree with 2+ years of experience in Finance / Decision support in retail
Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and at least one dashboarding/visualization tool.
Experience with financial forecasting and/or analytical modeling.
Experience with SQL and/or Python.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior FP&A experience, preferably within Retail or a related industry.
Experience with business intelligence, automation and dashboarding tools (e.g., Power BI, MicroStrategy).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience building financial models for forecasting and business performance analysis.
Experience conducting ad hoc financial analysis using advanced Excel functionality and translating results into recommendations for management.
Ability to communicate financial and analytical insights clearly to business stakeholders and senior management.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
