JOIN US as a Tooling Repair Technician based at our Rock Hill manufacturing facility, and we can offer you an opportunity to work in a high-tech, specialist company working with some of the best global names in aerospace, medical, semiconductor and clean energy.

The Tooling Repair Technician is a highly skilled and mechanically and electrically inclined individual supporting our customers need for re-tooling of pieces of equipment. This position will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing a variety of tooling products. The ideal candidate will ensure that all equipment is safe, reliable, and operating at peak performance to minimize downtime before returning to operations.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

• Diagnostics and troubleshooting: Inspect and test malfunctioning tooling which need repair and/or updates using diagnostic instruments to identify mechanical and electrical issues.

• Repairs and maintenance: Disassemble, clean, repair, and reassemble equipment tooling, and related equipment to set specifications.

• Preventative maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on tooling and equipment to extend life of the equipment and to prevent unexpected or premature failures.

• Quality insurance: Test repaired equipment and tools to ensure they meet safety and customer regulations and optimal performance standards before returning them to the field or customers.

• Inventory management: Track tooling received per customer, spare parts, order necessary components, and maintain an organized, clean repair area and inventory log.

• Documentation: Track tooling received per customer, maintain accurate service records, repair logs, and warranty paperwork within Microsoft D365.

• Continuous improvement: Apply lessons learned to support continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.

• May be required to travel to customer locations both within the US or worldwide, as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma, or equivalent. Technical certification or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, or industrial technology, or proven equivalent work experience.

• Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience with demonstrated proficiency in machine repair (electrical and mechanical). The successful candidate will have gained this experience in either a previous tooling repair role or in a more general service type role focussed on precision tooling.

• May involve exposure to noise, dust, and moving mechanical parts. Proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), as required.

• Physically able to hold, repair, and adjust small tools.

• Physically able to squat, stoop, bend, climb, twist, lift, pull, reach up and out, lift up to 25 lbs., and carry 25 lbs.

• US Citizen or existing Green Card Holder due to our customer facilities access requirements
