As a Software Engineer III, you will get to explore and work with cutting-edge technologies and a large and rich data set. What You'll do:
- Design, develop and maintain high quality services and UIs, adhering to best practices and coding standards
- Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to contribute to the design and evolution of the services architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability and performance
- Create robust RESTful APIs and integrate with external services, ensuring data consistency and security
- Work with various database systems, including SQL and NoSQL, to design efficient data models and access patterns for services
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks in the services, optimizing code and infrastructure as needed
- Use AI tooling such as Claude to optimize building, testing, and maintaining systems
- Write unit and integration tests and participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and reliability
- Investigate and resolve issues reported in production, providing timely solutions to ensure system availability
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices related to backend development and cloud technologies
What you bring:
- 4+ years of experience as a backend developer, with a strong focus on services development
- Strong experience with Node.js
- Real life experience designing, building, and maintaining distributed microservices architectures in production environments.
- Strong operational ownership mindset, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and service reliability.
- Experience supporting high-traffic, high-throughput systems with strict availability and performance requirements.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other cloud platforms.
- Experience using AI tools to drive and optimize development
- Experience with event-driven and asynchronous architectures.
- Hands-on experience with messaging and streaming technologies such as Kafka.
- Strong understanding of system scalability, resilience, fault tolerance, and performance optimization.
- Experience with Angular and/or React FE frameworks
- Must be able to work independently and deliver excellent results in short timelines
- Ability to learn and understand existing systems in a short amount of time
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Preferred Experience:
- Implementing monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions a.
- Handling millions of daily events, requests, or messages.
- With infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines.
- Optimizing cloud infrastructure costs and performance.
- Designing highly available systems across multiple regions or environments.
- Kubernetes experience, including deployment, scaling, observability, and production operations.
