Job Title: Social Worker - Learning Disabilities Team
Location: London Borough of Tower Hamlets
Pay Rate: £32.53 per hour

Job Description:

Liquid Personnel is recruiting a Qualified Social Worker for its client’s Learning Disabilities Team at the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.

This is a 6-month post aimed at addressing the backlog of Care Act reviews within the Community Learning Disability Service—currently totaling 475 outstanding reviews across three teams. This is a great opportunity for experienced professionals to make a meaningful impact in a high-demand area.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals with learning disabilities to determine their needs and eligibility for services.
  • Develop and implement personalized care plans in collaboration with service users, their families, and other professionals.
  • Prioritize and manage a caseload of individuals on the waiting list, ensuring timely interventions and support.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare providers, educational institutions, and community organizations to coordinate services and resources.
  • Monitor and review care plans regularly to ensure they meet the evolving needs of service users.
  • Respond to safeguarding concerns and take appropriate action to protect vulnerable individuals.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions and interventions.
  • Provide emotional and practical support to service users and their families.
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of individuals with learning disabilities.
  • Participate in regular training and professional development activities.

Qualifications & Experience:

To be successful in this role you must have, 

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience in working with individuals with learning disabilities.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation and policies, including the Care Act 2014.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a commitment to supporting individuals with learning disabilities.
