The ideal candidate will have strong software engineering fundamentals, expertise in Python development, and experience working with security-focused platforms, distributed systems, and cloud-native applications. You will play a key role in enhancing detection capabilities, improving platform reliability, and driving innovation across our threat analysis ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain core components of the Threat Detection Platform, including file ingestion, task orchestration, analysis workflows, and management APIs.
  • Build and enhance static analysis engines for malware detection, including PE file inspection, code-signing validation, YARA scanning, document macro analysis, archive inspection, and reputation-based lookups.
  • Develop and maintain dynamic analysis capabilities, including sandbox orchestration, behavioral analysis, event collection, and threat intelligence processing.
  • Integrate and optimize machine learning models for automated classification of files and threat detection.
  • Develop automated testing frameworks and integration tests to ensure end-to-end platform quality and accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues using logs, metrics, monitoring tools, and database analysis.
  • Improve platform scalability, performance, reliability, and code quality while reducing technical debt.
  • Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews to ensure engineering best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Strong programming skills in Python, including multithreading, REST API development, and database interaction.
  • Working knowledge of C/C++ for debugging and supporting existing platform components.
  • Experience with malware analysis concepts, including:
    • PE file structures and code signing
    • YARA rules
    • Office macro analysis
    • PDF and archive inspection
  • Familiarity with machine learning model deployment and inference using frameworks such as PyTorch, LightGBM, or Scikit-learn.
  • Experience with Linux-based environments, microservices architectures, and distributed systems.
  • Hands-on experience with technologies such as MS SQL/MySQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, Docker, Jenkins, and Git.
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building threat detection, malware analysis, cybersecurity, or endpoint security products.
  • Knowledge of sandboxing technologies, behavioral analysis, and threat intelligence platforms.
  • Experience with cloud-native applications and large-scale security platforms.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.
