Role Overview

Maesa is seeking a strategic, analytically driven, and commercially minded Senior Manager, Demand Planning to join our Supply Chain organization. Reporting to the Senior Director of Demand Planning, this role owns the accuracy and integrity of demand forecasts across a portfolio of Maesa brands — building robust, data-driven plans from sales, POS, and market signals, and continuously improving forecast performance.

This is a senior individual-contributor role where deep analytical rigor comes first. On the foundation of a well-built plan, you’ll translate the numbers into a clear point of view on demand — the shape of the business, the drivers behind it, and the risks and opportunities ahead — and drive cross-functional alignment rather than simply reporting results.

This role sits at the center of a modernizing function — one that is evolving toward AI-assisted and statistical forecasting and a more analytical, insight-led way of working. We’re looking for someone genuinely energized by that direction: a self-starter who wants to raise the bar, challenge the status quo, and help shape how demand planning is done at Maesa. The ideal candidate balances strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast-paced, high-growth beauty environment, and will see their responsibilities evolve with business needs and their own experience, skill set, and performance.

This role is based in New York City and follows a hybrid work schedule, with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities

Demand Planning & Forecasting

  • Own and develop accurate demand plans and forecasts for assigned brands and product portfolios, incorporating historical sales, customer input, promotional activity, new product launches, seasonality, and consumer/market trends.
  • Analyze forecast accuracy (FCA), bias, and forecast value add (FVA) at the item/month level; identify systemic misses, correct root causes, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Use retailer Point-of-Sale (POS), shipment, and retailer order signals as inputs to read consumer demand and flag items for investigation - with performance anchored at the SKU-consolidated brand/category level.
  • Translate demand into actionable recommendations for Operations and Supply Chain, proactively flagging supply and inventory risks with clear recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Co-lead the evolution of S&OP processes and drive cross-functional alignment between demand, supply, and business objectives - particularly as the portfolio grows.
  • Partner with Sales and Customer Service on forecasts, replenishment, and launches, resolving fill-rate, service-level, and delivery-date risks before they impact the business.

Executive Narrative & Demand Storytelling

  • Author and own the monthly DMR narrative for the Executive Leadership Team — framing the shape of the business at the brand and category level, leading with the answer, and proactively surfacing the “why” behind forecast movements, risks, and opportunities.
  • Anticipate leadership questions and pre-empt them in the story; arrive with a confident, decision-ready position.
  • Take full end-to-end ownership of deliverables - owning issues upward to leadership and laterally across functions, driving discussions to resolution rather than letting gaps carry forward.

New Product & Business Development

  • Lead demand planning for new product launches (NPI) - forecasting, history/newness loading, launch timing, and ongoing demand monitoring.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and customers to ensure new items are supported through launch, with demand plans aligned to launch timing, expectations and actual retail sales post launch.
  • Develop demand insights and scenarios to help evaluate new business opportunities and customer requirements.

Reporting, Analytics & BI

  • Own and monitor the demand planning KPI framework - tracking forecast performance and outliers - to surface issues early and hold the plan accountable to results.
  • Leverage data, automation, and AI-assisted analytics to identify trends, gaps, risks, and opportunities, and to continuously improve decision-making.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, Operations, or a related field.
  • 8+ years in supply chain, demand planning, forecasting, or operations, with 4–6+ years of direct demand planning experience. (Years may flex for the right level of demonstrated ownership and impact.)
  • Proven track record owning demand forecasts and partnering cross-functionally to drive business outcomes.
  • Strong command of demand planning and forecasting methodologies, inventory management, and S&OP processes.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel — large datasets, complex models, and reporting.
  • Experience with a planning system such as Anaplan (or comparable demand planning software) strongly preferred.
  • Exposure to statistical / ML-based forecasting and comfort applying AI-assisted analytics to planning workflows is a strong plus.
  • Power BI proficiency — confident navigating, interpreting, and drawing insight from dashboards; comfort with Power Query, Power Pivot, or DAX a plus.

What We Offer

$130,000/yr - $140,000/yr. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This position is eligible for participation in a discretionary bonus plan based on individual and company performance.

Maesa offers a variety of benefits to eligible employees. Employees can choose to enroll in health insurance coverage, wellness programs, life and disability insurance, and retirement savings plans. Through generous paid time off, a hybrid office setup, and paid leave options, Maesa encourages wellness and balance among employees.
