Role Overview
Our client is supporting the development of AI-enabled legal and compliance solutions that require accurate review of sensitive documents and structured privacy annotations.
We are looking for a Privacy Annotation Specialist to review legal and business documents, identify personally identifiable information, confidential content, and privacy-related risks, and validate extracted data used in legal investigation and information-governance workflows. The role combines legal document review, eDiscovery, quality assurance, and privacy compliance. Previous AI experience is not required.
CONTRACT: Freelance contractor, paid per completed task
COMMITMENT: Flexible, based on available tasks and project demand
LOCATIONS: Fully remote - GLOBAL
PROCESS: Application review, practical assessment, and onboarding
HOURLY RATE: $100 - $140/h
Responsibilities
- Review and annotate legal documents containing sensitive or confidential information.
- Identify and classify PII and other protected data.
- Validate OCR outputs for accuracy and completeness.
- Review contracts and litigation-related materials according to project guidelines.
- Perform quality checks on completed document batches.
- Flag inconsistencies, missed data, and unclear cases for further review.
- Support privacy, compliance, and information-governance requirements.
- Document findings and provide clear recommendations to project teams.
- Follow confidentiality and secure data-handling procedures.
Requirements
- Professional experience in legal document review, eDiscovery, privacy, compliance, or information governance.
- Strong knowledge of PII and sensitive-data classification.
- Experience reviewing contracts, litigation materials, or regulated documents.
- Experience performing quality assurance on document-review work.
- Ability to handle confidential information accurately and securely.
- Background as a paralegal, eDiscovery specialist, privacy analyst, compliance professional, or legal document review lead.
- Familiarity with OCR validation, litigation-support tools, or legal technology platforms.
- Experience in managed legal services, digital forensics, or privacy investigations.
