The opportunity
Due to the expansion of the team and success in the developing niche area of international succession and probate, an opportunity has arisen for a paralegal to join the International and Cross-Border (ICB) team.
The role can be based in a number of our offices, and hybrid working will be available.
You will be working with the team and aiding the solicitors who will be advising our clients on a variety of areas, which include cross-border and foreign succession and estate planning, wills, probate, tax, trusts, lasting powers of attorney, and general powers of attorney.
You will be expected to assist other solicitors and fee-earners in their work and also work on your own initiative, where it is appropriate and/or necessary for you to do so.
In addition to the work for our clients, there will also be an expectation for the individual to be actively involved in the marketing activities of the Team and the Firm.

Key Responsibilities
General duties include, but are not limited to:
- Drafting documents and producing research as requested by your supervisor;
- Assisting with UK and overseas estate planning and probate matters;
- Involvement in Marketing and Business Development events and activities;
- Communicating promptly and effectively both internally to colleagues and externally to clients;
- Attending, and being involved in preparation for Team meetings with clients and other legal advisors;
- Attending to clients of the Firm in the office or elsewhere if needed;
- Assisting with new work enquiries;
- Carrying out work for both colleagues and clients to the highest possible standard, having regard to the Firm’s standards, procedures and Core Values;
- Working in a collegiate and collaborative way within an immediate Team and wider Firm environment;
- Maintaining your continuing professional development requirements and taking an active interest in furthering your knowledge within the field of law.
Requirements
Essential
- Language skills, fluent, or a high level of French is required.
- Previous experience as a Paralegal.
- Previous experience in trusts, estates, probate, wills, and cross-border matters.
- Professional telephone manner.
- Desire to learn.
- Strong inter-personal skills when dealing with clients and work colleagues alike.
- Ability to work under pressure showing commitment to your colleagues and the Firm in general.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- High attention to detail.
Desirable
- Previous experience in international law would be desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
