The Role

CloudTalk is building the next generation of AI-powered business communication. Our product is getting stronger every quarter. The gap we're closing now is the distance between a compelling product story and the conversion moment — the point where the right person, reading the right message at the right time, takes action.

This role owns that gap.

You will report directly to the Director of Product Marketing and work from CloudTalk's positioning and messaging as your source of truth. Your job is to translate strategy into copy, copy into campaigns, and campaigns into measurable funnel outcomes, and to do it with speed, structure, and a relentless focus on what actually moves the number.

The role operates on three tracks simultaneously.

The first is always-on: building and maintaining the conversion systems that compound over time — lifecycle campaigns, activation flows, onboarding sequences — monitoring their performance and raising the floor continuously.

The second is directional: when the company sets a step-change goal, you run the experiments and targeted fixes needed to reach that next level.

The third is launch activation: when PMM kicks off a product or feature launch, you are deployed to build the funnel structures that make it land — the campaigns, sequences, and conversion surfaces that turn launch momentum into measurable adoption and pipeline.

All three tracks can be live at the same time, and knowing how to balance them is part of the job

What You Will Own

Always-on conversion infrastructure

The lifecycle and activation systems running in the background — onboarding flows, trial nurture, re-engagement. You build them, monitor them on a regular cadence, and fix degradation before it becomes a problem. These are compounding assets: every improvement raises the baseline for good.

Directional experiments and growth pushes

When the company sets a step-change goal, you own the funnel strategy to hit it. Diagnose the friction blocking the goal, propose and build the interventions, and run structured experiments — moving fast from hypothesis to live test. Kill what fails, scale what works.

Launch activation

When PMM kicks off a launch, you're the conversion execution partner. PMM owns strategy, messaging, and project management; you own the funnel layer that makes it commercially successful — launch emails, in-app announcements, landing page variants, onboarding for new functionality, and post-launch adoption flows. Define the conversion goal up front (what success looks like at 7, 30, and 90 days), instrument it, and treat each launch as an experiment: set a baseline, run the plan, report what worked and what to change next time.

Automated campaign builds

Build and deploy lifecycle, trigger-based, and launch campaigns yourself — owning the setup, logic, segmentation, and QA of everything you ship. Keep the automation stack clean and documented so others can build on it.

Experimentation program

Run continuous A/B and multivariate tests across all three tracks. Stand up new engagement surfaces — a chat widget, an in-app tooltip series, a re-engagement sequence — as scoped experiments with defined success metrics. Document results rigorously: what you tested, learned, killed, and scaled.

Funnel diagnostics

Audit drop-off across the full journey — sign-up, activation, onboarding, expansion — on a rolling basis. Separate systemic issues (fix in the always-on layer) from acute friction (current growth push) and launch-specific gaps. Find the highest-leverage interventions and make the case for where to focus.

Compliance and list hygiene

Own GDPR consent and the cleanliness of the contact list, and govern who gets sent what. That means no unauthorized sends, keeping the list accurate and properly segmented, and owning the ability to send to all customers cleanly when needed (T&C updates and similar).

A note on copy: You don't need to be a professional copywriter, but you need to know what conversion copy looks like — enough to write a solid first draft, brief and direct an AI tool to produce variants, or work with a copywriter when the brief calls for it, and in every case tell the difference between copy that converts and copy that won't.

AI & Automation Mandate

This is not a nice-to-have. It is a core expectation of the role.

A significant portion of your time should be spent making yourself more effective through AI and automation — not as a productivity shortcut, but as a compounding investment. The goal is to build systems that reduce the cost of repetition, so your attention goes where judgment is actually required.

  • Audit your own workload. Anything you do more than twice in the same form — segmentation logic, copy variants, performance summaries, sequence drafts — is a candidate for automation. You decide whether to build it yourself or scope it with our AI team.
  • Build an automation stack you actually use. Not a collection of half-finished experiments but a working set of workflows that handles the repeatable parts of the job reliably.
  • Use AI as a force multiplier on experimentation. Generate copy variants at scale, synthesize results faster, pressure-test messaging against different audience segments before anything goes live.
  • Collaborate with our AI team. For automations beyond your solo capacity, scope the requirement, make the case, and follow through to implementation.
  • Document and share what works. When you build something that saves time or improves output, write it up. The goal is not personal efficiency alone — it is raising the floor for the whole team.

We don't want someone who uses AI. We want someone who builds with it, treats automation as part of their craft, and actively works to replace the repeatable parts of the job with systems.

How Success is Measured

You will be measured on outcomes, not outputs. Specific targets are set in alignment with company goals. The standing KPI framework is:

  • Funnel conversion lift — measurable improvement at defined stages (trial-to-paid %, feature activation within 14 days, booking rate from a given surface). Baseline set each focus period; target agreed with the Director of PMM.
  • Always-on system health — sustained performance of owned campaigns, with the floor rising quarter over quarter. Undiagnosed degradation is a miss.
  • Launch activation performance — conversion tied to each launch (adoption at 7/30/90 days, engagement, pipeline influence where relevant), against a goal set in advance.
  • Experiment velocity and win rate — tests shipped per period and the share that reach statistical significance.
  • Time-to-deploy — how fast a diagnosed problem or launch brief becomes a live campaign. Speed never replaces rigor, but sustained slowness signals something's broken.

Who You Are

  • You think like a strategist and work like a builder. You read a funnel, form a hypothesis about what's broken and why, then build the fix yourself — no waiting on a developer, designer, or ops handoff.
  • You're product-fluent. You understand what the product does, which features drive value for which users, and how that maps to funnel moments — and you use that to decide what to push, when, and to whom. Nobody has to tell you which product to promote.
  • You're data-literate, not data-dependent. Comfortable reading dashboards and funnel metrics, forming hypotheses from both numbers and qualitative signals (customer feedback, sales themes, support patterns). You know signal from noise, and when to ask for deeper analysis.
  • You have a builder's relationship with tools. You've lived inside automation platforms, CRMs, and no/low-code environments — building sequences and logic branches and troubleshooting breaks, not just configuring templates.
  • You operate on multiple tracks. Run a disciplined always-on system, push a directional goal, and pivot into launch mode — without dropping balls already in the air.
  • You know the difference between executing a launch and owning one. You're energized by being the conversion execution partner without needing to own the whole project.
  • You're good with words and know what converts. Not a professional copywriter, but able to write a competent first draft and tell what will move someone — whether you, an AI, or a copywriter wrote it.
  • You treat AI as a craft, not a shortcut. You've built workflows and automations from scratch, not just used off-the-shelf tools. You can point to specific things you built, explain why, and show what they changed.
