About CORE Learning

In 2022, CORE Learning and its parent company, Pivot Learning, merged with UnboundEd to become UnboundEd/CORE Learning. Together, UnboundEd/CORE Learning is now the nation's largest equity-focused professional learning organization. We provide evidence-based, comprehensive instructional and curriculum support to educators and school system leaders in over 40 states nationwide.

CORE Learning (CORE) provides expert digital and in-person professional learning for pre-K-12 literacy and mathematics. Our evidence-based model supports the implementation of rigorous instruction for the language-diverse classroom based on scientific evidence in literacy, second-language acquisition, and mathematics. We work with and support educators and administrators at all grade levels, district personnel, and state education departments to build system-wide capacity for sustained improvement that ends the predictability of student outcomes by race, language, and socioeconomic status.

Requirements

Role Summary

CORE Learning is seeking a skilled and passionate content contributor to join our Product Development team as a Language and Literacy Content Specialist. In this role, you will write, edit, and refine research-based educational content for CORE's language and literacy products and professional development programs. Working under the direction of the Director of Product Production, you will contribute to projects that equip educators with the tools and knowledge to strengthen literacy outcomes for all students. This role requires both deep literacy expertise and demonstrated experience developing professional-grade content for educator audiences; candidates with only classroom teaching experience will not be a fit.

Essential Responsibilities

Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Write, edit, and refine high-quality content for professional development programs in language and literacy, including digital and print resources.
  • Develop content that reflects adult learning principles and is engaging, culturally responsive, and accessible to a diverse educator audience.
  • Support the content development lifecycle from drafting through final delivery, meeting project deadlines and staying aligned with the product roadmap.
  • Research evidence-based practices, literacy standards, and emerging trends to ensure content remains relevant and research-aligned.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and product developers to align content with instructional objectives and educator needs.
  • Review and proofread content for clarity, accuracy, and consistency with CORE's quality and style standards.
  • Incorporate user feedback and direction from the Director to continuously improve content quality.
  • Contribute to a content development process that advances CORE's mission of equitable, accessible literacy education.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Literacy, Linguistics, or a related field required; master's degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of professional content development experience within a company, publisher, or educational organization (e.g., edtech, publishing, professional learning organizations). This must include experience developing content for use beyond a single classroom or district (e.g., products used across multiple clients or markets). Experience limited to classroom teaching, school/district curriculum writing, or internal professional development does not meet this requirement..
  • Experience working within a product development environment (e.g., collaborating with product, design, or engineering teams; iterating based on user feedback; contributing to scalable content solutions) strongly preferred.
  • At least 3 years of successful ELA teaching or coaching experience required.
  • Deep, applied expertise in the Science of Reading, structured literacy, and language acquisition, with the ability to translate research into high-quality instructional and professional learning content.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, accessible content.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage assigned projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across functions.
  • Proficiency in G-Suite, Zoom, and relevant educational technology tools.
  • Experience with Asana, Jira, or similar project management platforms preferred.
  • Experience with an LMS or CMS preferred.
  • A genuine commitment to literacy education and equitable student outcomes.

The Strongest Candidates Will Have/Be:

  • Commitment to UnboundEd/CORE’s vision and core values
  • Learning orientation and commitment toward diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Facility with grasping and adding value to the President’s vision
  • Demonstrated record of effective, complex project management and problem-solving skills; can simplify complexity, manage ideation to execution, and anticipate and avert problems
  • Ability to work independently and build strong relationships with colleagues and partners; accurately assess and respond to situational, political, and organizational dynamics
  • Strong writing and organizational skills; attention to detail
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office, Google-based applications, and online collaboration tools such as Slack

Benefits

Compensation

CORE Learning offers competitive salaries commensurate with experience and education and a generous benefits package that includes take-as-you-need vacation time, group medical, dental and vision plans, disability and life insurance plans, and an employer-sponsored 401K retirement plan with a 5% employer contribution with no vesting period or salary cap. This is an exempt, full-time position with an annual salary range of $95,000 to $113,000. Because of our strong commitment to equity and growth, CORE does not negotiate compensation offers.
