Über diese HGV Class 2 Recycling Driver - Night Shifts - Gatwick Airport Stelle bei Optime Group
Optime Group is recruiting experienced HGV Class 2 Drivers to support a major recycling operation at Gatwick Airport.
This is not a long-distance driving position. You'll be driving around Gatwick Airport, collecting domestic and commercial waste and recycling from terminals and operational areas before transporting it back to the airport recycling centre.
Please note that this is a physically active role and not solely a driving position.

- Pay: £17.82 per hour
- Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off (subject to change)
- Shift Times: 18:00 - 06:00
- Weekly pay (every Friday)

Shifts
You'll work on a 4 on, 4 off rolling rota. As Gatwick Airport operates 24/7, shift patterns may be adjusted to meet operational requirements.
Example rota:
- Day 1: 18:00 - 06:00
- Day 2: 18:00 - 06:00
- Day 3: 18:00 - 06:00
- Day 4: 18:00 - 06:00

What you'll be doing
- Driving a Class 2 vehicle safely around Gatwick Airport.
- Collecting domestic and commercial waste and recycling from terminals and operational areas.
- Transporting waste and recycling to the airport recycling centre.
- Loading and unloading waste containers as part of the collection process.
- Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and completing transport documentation.
- Reporting vehicle defects, damage or operational issues promptly.
- Maintaining regular communication with the operational team.
- Working in accordance with Drivers' Hours, the Working Time Directive and Tachograph regulations.
- Following all airport security procedures and health and safety requirements.
- Carrying out any other reasonable duties required to support the operation.
What you'll need
- A valid UK Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence.
- At least one year's professional HGV Class 2 driving experience.
- A valid CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card.
- A good understanding of spoken and written English.
- Someone who enjoys a hands-on role and is comfortable with physical work alongside driving duties.
- A reliable and professional approach with pride in delivering a high standard of work.
- The ability to provide a full 5-year checkable employment and/or education history to obtain an airside pass.
- A willingness to undergo pre-employment drugs and alcohol testing.
