Head of Third Party Sales | 📍London – Hybrid 1-2 days in office | 💰Competitive Salary + Benefits
About the role
We’re looking for a Head of Third Party Sales to lead the turnaround and future growth of Moonpig Group’s third-party sales channels across e-tail, marketplaces, physical retail and Moonpig.com.
This is not a steady-state account management role. It is a hands-on commercial turnaround mandate for someone ambitious, commercially sharp and motivated by the chance to reset an underperforming but high-potential part of the business.
You’ll lead a team spanning both commercial account management and retail execution:
• Retail Partnerships: three account managers plus our Amazon agency, responsible for growing existing partners, improving commercial performance and expanding distribution through new e-tail and marketplace relationships.
• Retail Operations: the team responsible for taking physical gift experience products from concept through to store, ensuring the range is engaging for customers, commercially viable for partners and operationally efficient for Moonpig Group.
The role works across partners and channels including Amazon, Argos, John Lewis and Moonpig.com. The opportunity is to rethink how our experience gifts show up in third-party channels, working closely with Partner Management to build the right range, grow distribution and introduce new customers to our brands.
This role is about building the next version of third-party sales: expanding e-tail channels, finding new partners and reinventing the physical retail range so it is more engaging for customers and simpler for us to run.
Key Responsibilities:
Turnaround delivery and commercial grip
• Lead the turnaround of third-party sales performance across e-tail, marketplaces, physical retail and Moonpig.com.
• Build a clear recovery and growth plan with measurable milestones.
• Restore pace, accountability and commercial control across the channel.
• Take early trading action to protect performance against budget.
• Improve forecast accuracy, margin delivery and visibility of risks and opportunities.
• Move the function from reporting on issues to actively solving them.
Proposition and channel strategy
• Rethink the retail and e-tail proposition to make it future fit, commercially stronger and easier to scale.
• Define clear priorities by partner, proposition and route to market.
• Expand e-tail and marketplace distribution by identifying, prioritising and converting new partners.
• Develop the role of key channels including Amazon, Argos, John Lewis and Moonpig.com.
• Re-invent the physical retail range so it is more engaging for customers, simpler to operate and more efficient to manage.
• Work closely with Partner Management to shape the right experience range for third-party channels.
Retail partnerships and account growth
• Lead the Retail Partnerships team and Amazon agency.
• Improve performance across existing partners through stronger account plans, better trading rhythm and sharper execution.
• Lead senior commercial conversations with retail and marketplace partners.
• Improve visibility, trading terms, funding, promotional effectiveness and margin outcomes.
• Build a practical new business pipeline across priority e-tail, marketplace and retail partners.
• Reset expectations with partners where current performance is below potential.
Retail operations and physical product execution
• Support our team of experts, simplify how we build, launch and manage the physical retail range.
• Improve execution across product setup, range readiness, content, packaging, availability and in-store standards.
• Remove operational blockers quickly by aligning internal teams, agencies and external partners.
• Set clear service levels and performance standards across the retail operations workflow.
Trading rhythm and performance discipline
• Establish a robust weekly trading cadence across all third-party channels.
• Set clear account-level targets for sales, margin, growth and execution.
• Focus trading conversations on drivers, actions and decisions, not retrospective commentary.
• Track actions with clear ownership and deadlines.
• Build stronger performance visibility across partner, channel, range and product level.
Team leadership
• Lead, coach and develop a team across Retail Partnerships and Retail Operations.
• Build a culture of pace, ownership, commercial challenge and high standards.
• Raise the bar on account planning, data use, negotiation and execution.
• Create clarity on roles, priorities and performance expectations.
• Support high-potential talent and address underperformance directly.
Senior stakeholder engagement
• Provide clear, insight-led performance updates to senior stakeholders.
• Communicate risks, trade-offs and interventions with confidence.
• Work closely with the Commercial Director and wider leadership team to align third-party growth with the broader Experiences strategy.
• Build strong cross-functional relationships across Partner Management, Trading, Product, Marketing, Operations and Finance.
What success looks like
• Third-party sales performance is stabilised, then moved onto a clear growth trajectory.
• Key channels including Amazon, Argos, John Lewis and Moonpig.com have sharper plans and stronger commercial delivery.
• New e-tail and marketplace partners are identified, prioritised and converted.
• The physical retail range is simpler, more engaging and more efficient to run.
• Forecast accuracy, trading discipline and margin control improve materially.
• The team operates with clearer ownership, stronger pace and higher standards.
• The third-party proposition is future fit, commercially credible and ready to scale.
About You:
• Strong experience in sales, account management or commercial channel leadership.
• Proven track record managing and growing retail, e-tail or marketplace accounts.
• Experience leading commercial performance in a turnaround, reset or high-growth environment.
• Strong commercial instinct, with the ability to quickly identify what is driving performance and what needs to change.
• Confident negotiating with retail, marketplace or e-commerce partners.
• Able to build growth plans that are ambitious but grounded in commercial reality.
• Comfortable working across proposition, trading, operations and partner management.
• Strong bias for action, with the ability to move quickly from diagnosis to delivery.
• Clear communicator who can move between trading detail and senior-level narrative.
• Decisive, accountable and comfortable challenging internal and external stakeholders.
• Energised by pace, ambiguity and the opportunity to build something better.
• Low tolerance for unnecessary complexity, slow execution and vague ownership.
