About the Role

The Tax Manager role sits within the Finance team, reporting directly to the Finance Director, and is based in our Amsterdam, Netherlands office. The primary focus will be on managing the tax affairs of the group, including corporate tax, indirect taxes, transfer pricing, and capital taxes across multiple regions. As 1GLOBAL continues to grow as a complex international business, this role offers exposure to a wide range of tax areas across multiple geographies, including the EU, UK, APAC, with close collaboration with our US and Brazilian tax specialists. This is an exciting opportunity for a tax professional looking to develop in a dynamic, multinational environment with diverse and evolving tax challenges. 

About the Responsibilities

Tax Compliance & Management 

• Manage the group's tax affairs including corporate tax, indirect taxes, transfer pricing, and withholding taxes. 
• Review VAT and corporate tax returns prepared in-house and by agents across EU, UK, and APAC regions. 
• Ensure transfer pricing documentation is up-to-date and compliant with international standards. 
• Deal with tax queries from across the business, providing expert guidance and solutions. 

 
Tax Advisory & Planning 

• Research tax issues affecting the group and provide strategic advice to management. 
• Stay abreast of tax changes and developments that impact the group across all relevant jurisdictions. 
• Work closely with external tax advisors on significant tax projects and initiatives. 
• Provide tax input on commercial decisions, new market entries, and business reorganisations. 

Tax Technology & Process Optimisation 

• Demonstrate fluency with tax technology solutions to enhance efficiency and compliance. 
• Identify opportunities to streamline tax processes and enhance compliance efficiency. 
• Support the implementation and optimisation of tax technology platforms. 
• Develop robust tax data management systems to support accurate and timely reporting. 

Relationship Management 

• Manage relationships with tax agents and authorities across multiple jurisdictions. 
• Work closely with our US tax and Brazilian tax specialists to ensure global tax compliance. 
• Collaborate with finance teams across the group to ensure tax considerations are integrated into financial planning. 
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business to promote tax awareness. 

Requirements

About You

Must Have

• Relevant professional tax qualifications (e.g., RA, RB, CTA, or equivalent). 
• Strong experience in corporate tax, indirect taxes, transfer pricing. 
• Experience managing tax affairs across multiple jurisdictions, particularly in the EU, UK, and APAC regions. 
• Strong knowledge of consumer digital indirect taxes and international tax regulations. 
• Proven ability to research complex tax issues and implement practical solutions. 
• Experience in reviewing tax returns and ensuring compliance with local regulations. 
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax matters to non-tax professionals. 

Nice to Have

• Experience in the telecommunications or technology sectors. 
• Knowledge of US and/or Brazilian tax systems. 
• Fluency with tax technology platforms and solutions.
