Job description
We are seeking a Freelance Senior UI Engineer to join our engineering team and help build modern, scalable, and accessible digital experiences. The ideal candidate has a strong background in React, Next.js, and modern frontend technologies, along with experience building high-quality applications in fast-paced Agile environments.
You will collaborate closely with designers, product managers, QA analysts, and fellow engineers to deliver performant, user-centered solutions while contributing to engineering best practices and technical excellence.
What you'll be doing
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable frontend applications using React, Next.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
- Build reusable, accessible, and maintainable UI components that align with design systems and engineering standards.
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and GraphQL services to support modern web applications.
- Collaborate with UX designers, visual designers, QA analysts, product managers, and engineers throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Optimize application performance using profiling tools, Lighthouse audits, and Core Web Vitals best practices.
- Ensure applications meet accessibility standards, including WCAG and ARIA guidelines.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Troubleshoot complex frontend issues and contribute to scalable, high-quality software solutions.
- Work effectively within Agile teams, managing priorities in a fast-paced development environment.
What we would like to see
- 5+ years of experience developing web applications within Agile software development teams.
- Strong expertise in JavaScript (ES202x), TypeScript, React.js, and Next.js.
- Experience designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs and GraphQL services.
- Strong experience with Sass or other CSS preprocessors.
- Proven experience building and maintaining server-side applications and APIs.
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and software design patterns.
- In-depth knowledge of accessibility standards, including WCAG, ARIA, and inclusive design principles.
- Experience optimizing application performance using Lighthouse, performance profiling, and Core Web Vitals.
- Experience collaborating with QA analysts, UX designers, visual designers, business analysts, and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Professional English proficiency with strong verbal and written communication skills.
