Job Description:
- The Design Release will be responsible for the engineering, design, development, timing and validation of wipers and washing systems components (e.g. wiper modules, washer bottles, hoses and nozzles).
- This will include analyzing the design to ensure it meets requirements and working with the extended vehicle team for production implementation and competitive benchmarking.
- The Body Exterior Vision Component Engineer will execute component standardization and reuse, DVP, best practices and lessons learned and will maintain functional objectives, DFMEA's, DVPR's and standards.
- Engineer needs to support meeting throughout NA work hours and work closely with local engineering teams, Architecture/Vehicle Concepts, program science teams & PDO with iterative models to align with all packaging, functional objectives and system requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace or Materials Engineering from an ABET accredited university
- Self-starter with strong leadership, communication skills and demonstrated problem-solving ability
- Proficient in MS-Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in body exterior systems and wipers systems
- Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R)
- Knowledgeable in NX and TC release experience
- Body systems in-plant launch experience
- Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) green / black-belt
- Shainin/ Kepner-Tregoe reactive problem solving
- Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA)
