We're looking for a Director of Product Marketing and Competitive Intelligence to own and elevate our product marketing function. This is a player-coach role: you'll set the strategy and eventually build a team, but from day one you'll also be in the work — writing positioning, briefing sales, building competitive intel, and making sure our field teams have exactly what they need to sell.
You'll partner closely with sales, customer success, product, and the rest of marketing (brand/creative, content, revenue marketing, and thought leadership) to make sure our category positioning — Decision Intelligence for Pay — translates into messaging, enablement, and competitive positioning that actually holds up in the field.
This role is highly cross-functional and highly visible. You'll work directly with the SVP of Marketing and have regular exposure to sales leadership and the executive team.
Positioning & Messaging
- Own core product positioning and messaging across the portfolio, ensuring consistency from category narrative down to individual feature messaging
- Translate product capabilities into business value propositions for HR, Total Rewards, People Analytics, and executive buyer personas
- Partner with brand/creative and content to make sure messaging shows up correctly everywhere it lives — web, sales collateral, campaigns, and thought leadership
Field & Sales Enablement
- Build and maintain sales enablement materials that are detailed, accurate, and usable in real deals — battlecards, decks, one-pagers, objection handling guides
- Run regular touchpoints with sales to understand what's working, what's missing, and where reps are getting stuck
- Be the fast, responsive point of contact when sales needs something to close or advance a deal
Competitive Intelligence
- Own our competitive intelligence program: tracking, analysis, and enablement against key competitors
- Translate competitive intel into materials sales can use in real time, not just reference documents that sit unused
Launches & GTM
- Lead go-to-market planning and execution for product launches and major feature releases
- Partner with product management to represent the voice of the customer and the field back into the roadmap
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Act as the connective tissue between product, sales, customer success, and the broader marketing team
- As the function grows, build and lead a product marketing team
- 7+ years in product marketing, with meaningful experience in B2B SaaS; direct experience in HR tech, compensation, or a related HR/People space is a strong plus but not required
- A track record of building enablement and messaging that sales actually uses — not just materials that look good in a review
- Strong competitive intelligence chops: research, synthesis, and translating findings into something usable
- Genuinely collaborative — this function sits at the center of a lot of teams, and you need to be someone people want to loop in, not work around
- Comfortable operating as both strategist and doer — this role requires rolling up your sleeves alongside setting strategy
- Sharp, clear writer and communicator who can flex between exec-level narrative and field-level detail
- High responsiveness and follow-through; sales and cross-functional partners should feel like requests don't disappear into a queue
- 💰 Competitive Compensation. For this role our salary is targeted at $180,000 -$220,000 per year. Final offer amounts are determined by factors such as experience and expertise. We take a geo neutral approach to compensation within the US, meaning that we pay based on job function and level, not location.
- 🏆 Syndio Equity. So you can share in Syndio’s success.
- 🏝 Flexible Vacation Policy. We encourage our team to recharge when they need to, plus paid sick & safe time, compassion leave, and voting leave.
Paid parental leave- 🩺 Medical, Dental, Vision. Syndio pays 90% of employee premiums, and 50% for dependents.
- 🏥 Life Insurance & Disability. Syndio covers the full premium.
- 🏦 401(k). To help you save for your future
- Fully remote model - #LI-Remote
