Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Concept Artist who can help drive the creation of new concepts on one of our games, as well as support the production team with any concept art needs.
- Create high-quality concept art for environments, props, characters, UI elements, and live game content that aligns with the project's visual style and creative direction.
- Explore and communicate ideas through thumbnails, sketches, paint-overs, storyboards, and polished concept artwork from ideation through final production-ready assets.
- Develop creative design solutions while considering gameplay requirements, technical constraints, and production timelines.
- Collaborate closely with the Lead Artist, Art Director, Product, Design, UX, and 3D teams to create clear, production-ready concepts.
- Translate briefs and feedback into thoughtful design iterations while maintaining quality and consistency across deliverables.
- Prepare concept sheets, callouts, and visual documentation to support downstream art teams and external vendors.
- Manage assigned tasks effectively, communicate progress proactively, and deliver work within agreed timelines.
- Contribute ideas during brainstorming sessions and actively participate in creative discussions.
- Continuously develop artistic and technical skills by staying up to date with industry trends, techniques, and tools.
What You'll Bring
- 3–5 years of professional experience as a Concept Artist in the games industry. (A portfolio showcasing relevant professional and/or personal work is required.)
- Strong understanding of visual design fundamentals, including composition, colour theory, lighting, perspective, shape language, and visual storytelling.
- Strong sketching and rendering skills with the ability to communicate ideas quickly and clearly.
- Ability to explore multiple design directions and iterate effectively based on feedback.
- Ability to work within an established art style while maintaining consistency across assets.
- Creative problem-solving skills with a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset.
- Good communication skills and experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop is essential.
- Familiarity with After Effects, 3D workflows (Blender, Maya, ZBrush, or similar), and Unity is a bonus.
- Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Design, Animation, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- Experience working on mobile games.
- Understanding of game art production pipelines and how concept art translates into final game assets.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted ideation tools as part of the creative workflow.
