We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented BIW (Body-in-White) Design Engineer with 2–6 years of experience in automotive body structure and fixture design. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in concept development, BIW fixture design, and CAD modeling using CATIA. You will play a key role in developing innovative and manufacturable BIW solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Develop innovative BIW concept designs based on customer requirements, design standards, and manufacturing feasibility.
- Design and develop BIW fixtures, including welding fixtures, checking fixtures, assembly fixtures, and related tooling.
- Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using CATIA.
- Ensure all designs comply with automotive quality standards, GD&T principles, and manufacturing best practices.
- Participate in design reviews and implement feedback to optimize functionality, manufacturability, and cost.
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing, process engineering, tooling, and quality teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Perform design modifications based on engineering changes, customer feedback, and production requirements.
- Maintain engineering documentation, BOMs, design calculations, and revision records.
- Support prototype development, fixture validation, and production launch activities.
- Troubleshoot design-related issues during manufacturing and recommend practical engineering solutions.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned deliverables while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 2–6 years of experience in BIW design within the automotive industry.
- Strong understanding of automotive body structures, sheet metal components, welding processes, and manufacturing techniques.
- Hands-on experience in fixture design for automotive production environments.
Must-Have Skills
- Strong expertise in Concept Design for Body-in-White structures and tooling.
- Advanced proficiency in CATIA for 3D modeling, assemblies, drafting, and design documentation.
- Extensive experience in BIW Fixture Design, including welding, assembly, and checking fixtures.
- Good understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and manufacturing feasibility.
- Knowledge of automotive engineering standards and product development processes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and design validation skills.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Working knowledge of Fides for design validation and project workflows.
- Experience with 3D Finish methodologies and surface quality standards.
- Hands-on exposure to Siemens NX for CAD modeling and engineering design.
- Familiarity with PLM systems and engineering change management processes.
- Understanding of DFMEA, PFMEA, and APQP methodologies.
- Exposure to robotic welding lines and automotive production tooling is an added advantage.
