What you’ll do

We are looking for a talented Software Engineer to join our AI and Automation Team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the APIs that power the Core AI capabilities at CORTO.  This is an incredible opportunity to be part of an engineering team building the next generation of our products.

To make this happen you will

• Design, develop and maintain API endpoints that orchestrate prompts and responses across multiple Large Language Models (LLMs) using Python and .NET technologies 

• Build and refine multi-agent orchestration systems that coordinate specialised AI sub-agents for complex research and document generation tasks 

• Implement context budget management and token optimisation strategies to maximise LLM output quality within model constraints 

• Maintain and enhance Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines that connect enterprise knowledge sources with Large Language Models (LLMs) 

• Prototype and experiment with new AI techniques ensuring alignment with best practices and industry standards 

• Work extensively with AWS, including S3, ECS, SQS, AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, and more 

• Optimize code for performance, scalability, and maintainability 

• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback 

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members 

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver efficient solutions 

What you’ll bring

You are a focused, motivated and hard-working developer who wants to join a fantastic growing team at a critical time and learn on the job to expand your skills. In addition to that you will bring: 

• Demonstrated skills with Python and ASP.NET Web API with 3+ years' experience 

• Experience building RESTful APIs 

• Experience with MS SQL, PostgreSQL or any other relational database 

• Experience with DynamoDB or any other NoSQL database 

• Experience with AWS or other cloud computing platforms 

• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills 

Even better if you have

• Understanding of prompt engineering principles and LLM integration patterns (function calling, tool use, structured outputs) 

• Experience with observability and tracing tools (e.g. Datadog, Langfuse, LangSmith or similar) 

• Experience with RAG pipelines and semantic/vector search (PGVector, embeddings) 

• Familiarity with the OpenAI Responses API or Anthropic Claude API 

• Experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol) or tool-augmented LLM patterns 

• Experience with real-time streaming architectures (WebSockets, SSE, pub/sub)
