Seapoint is building the financial home for European startups and scale-ups. We're an AI-powered business account that handles everything from payroll and expenses to invoice payments and reporting, all in one place.

Founded by Sean Mullaney (former European CIO at Stripe) and a team of alumni from Stripe, Google, Wise, Wayflyer, Nubank and Tide, we've raised €10M in funding led by 13books Capital and Frontline Ventures, with 40+ angel investors from across Europe's startup ecosystem. 80+ startups now run their finances on Seapoint.

The problem we're solving is real: European startups are stuck between neobanks (too small) and traditional corporate banking (too big). They're juggling 4-6 different financial products, running processes manually, and earning no interest on cash deposits. We're changing that with AI automation that handles the tedious financial work, so founders can focus on building their businesses instead of managing spreadsheets.

About the role

We're looking for an AI Software Engineer to own and expand the intelligent systems that power our financial platform for business owners. You'll work on production AI features that directly impact how founders manage their finances - from automatically enriching transaction data to matching invoices with payments, to reporting and forecasting insights.

What you'll work on

Vendor enrichment pipeline: Build on our system that takes bank transactions from multiple sources (open banking, accounting software, email invoices) and enriches them with vendor information. There's significant work ahead in improving web search accuracy, normalization logic, and data joining.

Bill Pay: Develop and expand the AI behind our invoice management product. We scan invoices from inboxes and match them to transactions, but there's much more to build: better RAG, smarter beneficiary creation, improved payment automation. 

AI Evaluation Infrastructure: Drive our eval framework forward. You'll work with a dedicated eval environment to test prompts and agents. Bring industry best practices to solve the hard problem of reliably measuring AI system performance.

New Feature Development: Lead technical discovery for AI-driven features across reporting, forecasting, and other areas. Propose, research, and scope new capabilities that improve the financial experience for business owners. We're moving toward agent-based systems.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience

• Experience building production AI systems, particularly with LLMs and document processing
• Ability to take ambiguous problems and convert them to results
• Varied technical background - we value breadth alongside depth
• Strong sense of ownership over systems and outcomes
• Customer empathy - you think about features from the business owners' perspective
• Collaborative approach - you bring the team along as you build

We're a seed-stage startup building an AI-first financial platform. You'll have significant autonomy and impact on both product and technical direction.
