The role
We are building a new team from the ground up, focused on developing the first generation of verification and validation infrastructure (hardware and software), including automated Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) with emulation of sensors, and vehicle systems.
As a HIL Platform Scalability Engineer, you’ll ensure that our HIL systems scale reliably across different benches, programs and geographic locations. You’ll lead the development of monitoring, alerting, and access control and automation infrastructure that enables system uptime, test execution efficiency, and reliable operation of a global HIL fleet.
We are looking for engineers who thrive at the intersection of test systems, infrastructure, automation and operation. In this role, you’ll be critical to scaling and maintaining a fleet of HIL systems that support system level integration and validation at different locations, while enabling engineer teams to move faster and with confidence.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and implement observability systems to monitor health, uptime, and utilization of HIL benches across multiple sites
- Build tools and workflows to reduce bench downtime, increase availability and minimize operational overhead
- Manage HIL systems including all the underlying infrastructure, ensure it’s reliable, scalable and secure
- Develop automation for bench configuration, track changes, and maintain configuration/version control
- Ensure seamless integration of HIL systems into test automation, CI pipelines, and scheduling framework
- Work with other HIL engineers to triage and troubleshoot hardware/software issues affecting HIL stability
- Define HIL operational level agreement, and drive continuous improvements to scale bench operations efficiently
- Implement access control systems and remote control/interaction infrastructure in collaboration with IT and security teams
- Collaborate with the wider HIL team to innovate HIL test system as a service
About you
You’re passionate about building robust, scalable test infrastructure that enables efficient system integration and validation at scale. You bring a strong mix of test system knowledge, infrastructure engineering and operational experience - with a strong focus on enabling engineering teams to deliver confidently at scale. Essential Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Systems Engineering or a related field
- 2+ years of experience working with test infrastructure, e.g., HIL, or hardware/software test environments
- Proficiency with observability/monitoring tools, e.g., Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, etc
- Strong scripting and automation experience using Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages
- Proficiency with Linux or Unix based operating systems, command line tool
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, test scheduling systems, and orchestration tools
- Excellent problem solving skills and operational thinking
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in platform operations, site reliability engineering(SRE), or scaling test infrastructure
- Hands-on experience with configuration management tools, such as Ansible, Chef, Terraform
- Familiarity with containerization orchestration engines(e.g., Kubernetes) and proven understanding of continuous development techniques and pipelines (CI/CD, Git)
- Experience working with autonomous systems including robotics and/or autonomous vehicles
- Familiarity with automotive software development requirements and standards, such as ASPICE ,ISO 26262 and ISO 21448 (SOTIF) , with automotive HIL SW and HW products e.g. from Vector and dSPACE and with automotive SW architecture such as AUTOSAR

The Role
As a Principal ML Engineer within the Application Engineering team, you’ll lead critical initiatives that push the frontier of model-based autonomous driving—both in terms of core driving performance and feature-level intelligence such as personalization, comfort, and collaboration.
You’ll design and deliver ML-driven behaviours that scale from assisted to autonomous driving. Your work will span across model architecture, data pipelines, evaluation frameworks, and real-world deployment. You’ll collaborate deeply with AI Platform, Simulation, Robot SW and Model Release teams to build systems that are performant, adaptable, and ready for production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and improve end-to-end driving models with state-of-the-art performance, robustness, and generalization.
- Lead projects on personalized and collaborative driving, including behavior conditioning, comfort tuning, and user alignment.
- Build evaluation pipelines and metrics for both closed-loop and open-loop driving performance and product readiness.
- Curate and mine real-world and synthetic data to drive scenario diversity, coverage, and feature-specific development.
- Influence architecture choices, training methodologies, and deployment pathways for production-scale learning systems.
- Collaborate cross-functionally across various teams to ensure integration and iteration velocity.
- Mentor senior engineers and shape the long-term technical direction across Autonomy.

We’re seeking an exceptional Application SW Engineer to join our Application Engineering org, focused on localising and advancing Wayve’s autonomous driving technology for the US market. This is a unique opportunity to play a hands-on role in shaping our AV capabilities in the US from the ground up.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for the bring-up and early validation of our AI software stack on customer hardware platforms, ensuring seamless performance across diverse SoCs and operating systems. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across Verification, Release, and OEM partners to ensure smooth integration and reliable delivery.
Responsibilities:

- Familiarity with QNX and Adaptive AUTOSAR environments and the ability to configure and debug them on target hardware.
- Experience with bring-up on automotive-grade SoCs (e.g., NVIDIA Orin, Qualcomm SA8295/SA8650, Renesas, TI).
- Comfortable working with hardware debuggers, flashing tools, serial consoles, and board support packages (BSPs).
- Familiarity with communication protocols like CAN, Ethernet, PCIe, SPI, I2C.
- Hands-on experience integrating embedded platforms into CI/CD pipelines and test automation frameworks.

The Role
In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting our customers throughout the entire development lifecycle, from the initial integration phase to the final validation of our technology. You will ensure that customers receive responsive, high-quality technical support and work closely with both our clients and internal engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of our technology into their vehicles.
Located near our customers, you will be in a prime position to perform rapid diagnostics, identify issues in real time, and collaborate directly with customer engineering teams. This proximity allows you to maintain a holistic understanding of the system and effectively distinguish between vehicle-related issues and those specific to the Wayve AI Driver.

The Role
In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting our customers throughout the entire development lifecycle, from the initial integration phase to the final validation of our technology. The role
We’re seeking an exceptional Software Integration Engineer to join us on a contract basis within the Application Software team based in Germany, focused on localising and advancing Wayve’s autonomous driving technology.

The Role
As a ML Engineer within the Application Engineering team, you’ll lead critical initiatives that push the frontier of model-based autonomous driving—both in terms of core driving performance and feature-level intelligence such as personalization, comfort, and collaboration.

We’re seeking an exceptional Principal Application SW Engineer to join our Japan-based within the Application Software team, focused on localising and advancing Wayve’s autonomous driving technology for the Japanese market. This is a unique opportunity to play a hands-on role in shaping our AV capabilities in Japan from the ground up.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for the bring-up and early validation of our AI software stack on customer hardware platforms, ensuring seamless performance across diverse SoCs and operating systems. Deep understanding of Linux-based embedded systems (Yocto, systemd, bootloaders, device trees). - Familiarity with QNX and Adaptive AUTOSAR environments and the ability to configure and debug them on target hardware.
Experience with bring-up on automotive-grade SoCs (e.g., NVIDIA Orin, Qualcomm SA8295/SA8650, Renesas, TI). - Comfortable working with hardware debuggers, flashing tools, serial consoles, and board support packages (BSPs).

We’re seeking an exceptional Application SW Engineer to join our Japan-based within the Application Software team, focused on localising and advancing Wayve’s autonomous driving technology for the Japanese market. The Role
We're looking for an exceptional technical leader to spearhead our new Japan-based Application Engineer team, a self-sufficient and high-impact group focused on localising and advancing our autonomous driving technology for the Japanese market. The Role
We’re seeking an exceptional Application SW Engineer to join our Germany-based team within the Application Engineering org, focused on localising and advancing Wayve’s autonomous driving technology for the German market. This is a unique opportunity to play a hands-on role in shaping our AV capabilities in Germany from the ground up.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for the bring-up and early validation of our AI software stack on customer hardware platforms, ensuring seamless performance across diverse SoCs and operating systems. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across Verification, Release, and OEM partners to ensure smooth integration and reliable delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Execute software bring-up on customer hardware platforms (e.g. NVIDIA Drive, Qualcomm Ride).
- Port and configure Linux-based systems, QNX, and Adaptive AUTOSAR environments.
- Integrate and validate drivers, middleware, and boot-time configurations.
- Collaborate with Verification & Release teams to integrate hardware into CI/CD, HIL, and test infrastructure.
- Work with OEM and Tier 1 teams to resolve hardware-specific integration issues.
- Implement system-level diagnostics, logging, and secure boot configuration.
- Develop automation for setup, flashing, health checks, and test execution on target hardware.
About you
In order to set you up for success as an Application Software Engineer at Wayve, we’re looking for the following skills and experience.
Essential
- 8+ years of experience in embedded or automotive software development, ideally with hands-on platform bring-up experience.
- Strong proficiency in C/C++, Bash, and Python.
- Deep understanding of Linux-based embedded systems (Yocto, systemd, bootloaders, device trees).
- Familiarity with QNX and Adaptive AUTOSAR environments and the ability to configure and debug them on target hardware.
- Experience with bring-up on automotive-grade SoCs (e.g., NVIDIA Orin, Qualcomm SA8295/SA8650, Renesas, TI).
- Comfortable working with hardware debuggers, flashing tools, serial consoles, and board support packages (BSPs).
- Familiarity with communication protocols like CAN, Ethernet, PCIe, SPI, I2C.
- Hands-on experience integrating embedded platforms into CI/CD pipelines and test automation frameworks.
Desirable
- Exposure to automotive verification environments (e.g., HIL systems, Vector toolchains, custom CI rigs).
- Experience working in a safety-critical domain with an understanding of ISO 26262, boot-time determinism, and watchdogs.
- Understanding of secure boot, OTA updates, and system-level cybersecurity topics.
- Familiarity with Docker, Jenkins, Git, and artifact management tools like JFrog Artifactory.
This is a full-time role based in our office in Leonberg.
