WMAZ-TV in CBS is looking for a dynamic and engaging Meteorologist to join our passionate team. This position is responsible for preparing and delivering accurate weather reports on-air and online in a conversational manner. The key responsibility is the ability to gather and analyze information and alert our audiences about what’s going to happen with weather in their community. We are looking for a team player who can help with every aspect of meteorology, from forecasting, to preparing graphics, to reporting in the field, you will be an integral part of severe weather coverage, and reaching our consumers not only on TV, but online and on social media. The ideal candidate embraces new technology and is willing to explore new ways to present the weather story. As a central member of the WX department, the ideal candidate is a team player who participates in brainstorming and planning for future shows, including important weather events and explainers.
Current driver's license and ability to operate news gathering vehicle to and from various locations is required.
Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and compelling weather forecasts in a multi-platform environment
- Prepare and deliver severe weather updates, interrupting regular programming as necessary.
- Produce clean, creative and informative graphics to tell the weather story
- Fill in on other shifts when necessary.
- Write and report from the field or inside the newsroom
- Update website and interact with viewers on social media platforms daily
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Make public appearances
Requirements:
- BA/BS degree in Meteorology, Geoscience or Atmospheric Science.
- 0-1 YEARS on-air meteorology experience required
- Be proficient at posting content to various websites and social media; computer literacy required, including weather and newsroom computer systems

Responsibilities:

• Craft and produce stories across platforms for diverse audiences, emphasizing quality, accuracy, and engagement.
• Build comprehensive rundowns with compelling stories, while also selecting your own production elements giving you full control of your show’s look and feel.
• Collaborate with newsroom leadership, production lead, and other producers to ensure editorial consistency and technical quality.
• Lead continuous, live coverage of breaking news and community events.
• Innovate in show design and storytelling, trying new approaches with guidance from supervisors.
• Apply data analytics to shape content and boost engagement.
• Commit to inclusive storytelling by amplifying underrepresented voices in the community.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field preferred.
• 1-3 years of news content experience, ideally with experience in show production.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple aspects of newscast production under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating within the newsroom and adapting plans in high-pressure, live situations.
• Ability to maintain composure and adaptability during breaking news and high-stakes events.
• Proficiency in news production tools preferred, with a willingness to learn new systems for production coding and show direction.
• Knowledge of vMix, Edius, or similar production platforms is beneficial but not required.
• A collaborative, growth-focused approach to leadership that aligns with the station’s commitment to innovation and community engagement.

We are seeking a results-oriented, highly organized professional to support the WMAZ and WZDX sales teams by partnering closely with Account Executives and Sales Leadership to drive Total TV (linear, OTT, and digital) revenue growth. This role generates data-driven insights through market research and competitive analysis, creates sales presentations, manages order entry, and ensures flawless campaign execution from avails generation to makegoods. The position delivers superior customer service to agencies and direct clients while maintaining sales materials and workflow systems that keep Account Executives empowered with relevant information. With a focus on enabling Account Executives to maximize client-facing time, this position plays a key role in driving growth and operational excellence across both markets.
Responsibilities:
• Develop tailored packages, proposals and client-focused sales presentations that clearly communicate Total TV (linear and digital) opportunities, deliverables, and value within integrated media campaigns
• Act as a strategic advisor for WMAZ and WZDX sales teams by leveraging ratings data, competitive intelligence tools, and AI resources to conduct client research and provide market insights that empower Account Executives in client conversations.
• Organize, maintain, and update sales materials, presentations, and marketing collateral ensuring Account Executives have immediate access to current, professional materials for client meetings.
• Attend sales meetings and training sessions to gain product knowledge, stay informed on TEGNA’s broadcast, OTT, and digital solutions, understand sales processes, and maintain ability to discuss solutions with team members.
• Generate and maintain current inventory availability across linear and digital platforms, respond to avails requests to support client proposals and sales presentations. Process and enter advertising orders accurately into traffic system and ensure seamless campaign execution from order to air.
• Prepare attribution reports for OTT and linear TV campaigns, synthesizing data into actionable presentations
• Monitor campaign delivery, pull posts to address under-delivery situations, coordinate makegood schedules, and ensure clients receive full value on their advertising investments.
• Process co-op advertising invoices following client guidelines, prepare special billing as needed, and ensure timely and accurate invoices that supports client reimbursement processes.
• Complete required forms and updates in Monday.com project management system to ensure accurate workflow tracking, team coordination, and commercial production project visibility across both markets.
• Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support team objectives.
Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years providing operational or administrative support in media, advertising, or sales-related environments preferred
• Proven ability to support pre-sale and post-sale campaign implementation and client service responsibilities that enable sales teams to focus on revenue generation.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel (formulas, tables, data analysis) and PowerPoint (presentation creation and design); ability to leverage AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) to generate insights and build sales presentations.
• Ability to learn with CRM software, traffic system (Wide Orbit), and project management tools; ability to learn new software systems quickly.
• Understanding of broadcast television advertising, Comscore ratings, OTT/streaming platforms, and digital advertising concepts; ability to articulate TEGNA’s multi-platform solutions.
• Exceptional organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple accounts, campaigns, and projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to track campaign performance, identify trends, and translate data into actionable insights that support revenue growth conversations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with professional demeanor in all client and internal interactions.
