WKYC-TV Cl, the NBC TEGNA affiliate, is looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Journalist to help maintain our tradition of superior reporting and newsgathering. We are interested in finding a journalist who can create unique, memorable and well written stories, who can share them on all platforms with a mix of outstanding photography and unforgettable editing. If you're a creative storyteller who understands true multi-platform journalism and who is not bound by the methods of traditional TV news – we want to hear from you!
Current driver's license and ability to operate news gathering vehicle to and from various locations is required.
Responsibilities:
- Perform authoritative, compelling live shots in a developing story or in breaking news situations
- Develop story ideas
- Mine the community to find sources who will keep you informed about events and ideas in their areas of expertise
- Ability to identify, write and produce stories within a specific framework.
- Research for facts and credibility.
- Maintain and develop sources who will help bring our reporting to the next level.
- Shoot, write, produce and edit on air and online content within deadlines.
- Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new forms of media (viewer pictures, webcam interviews, etc.) to enhance stories.
- Use social media and digital tools to research, discover and distribute content.
- Attend editorial meetings and offer story ideas daily.
- Write in an exciting, captivating and authentic manner.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years reporting experience preferred.
- Must possess solid news judgment, display strong communication skills, creativity, and ethical decision-making skills.
- Strong writing skills, production skills and tease writing abilities.
- ENPS, EDIUS and Axis graphics experience is preferred.
- Must be organized with the ability to work under constant deadlines.
- Must be able to calmly handle live breaking news situations and changing events.
- Proven social and digital content creation ability.
- Knowledge of Cleveland a plus

WKYC-TV, the TEGNA NBC station in Cleveland is looking for a highly skilled artistic Photojournalist who can create shareable and exciting content for television, social media and mobile. We want a photojournalist who can tell great stories on their own or with a team. Our ideal candidates are familiar with the latest photography, editing tools, and techniques. They create unique and exciting content on all platforms. They are proficient with live news-gathering tools and are able to participate in live performance on-air and on live streaming when necessary.
Current driver's license and ability to operate news gathering vehicle to and from various locations is required.
Responsibilities:
- Passion for capturing video & audio elements that produce compelling and engaging news, sports, features and documentary-style stories in a daily deadline environment.
- Operate an ENG truck or IP video-based live unit (TVU) when assigned.
- Be assigned to either work in a team or solo for daily news assignments.
- Attend editorial meetings, participate in discussions, and suggest story ideas.
- Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new forms of media (viewer pictures, webcam interviews, etc.) to enhance stories.
Requirements:
- BA/BS in journalism, communications or related field preferred or equivalent years of experience
- 3-5 years of experience preferred in a newsroom environment.
- Experience in photojournalism, editing, and content management systems
- Must be flexible with schedule, reliable and dependable
- Proven ability to generate creative, engaging, content-driven live shots
- Member and active participant in NPPA a plus
- Demonstrated news judgment, writing skills, photography experience, and non-linear editing skills.
- Understanding of the tenants of professional journalism
- Knowledge of EDIUS, or any Non-Linear base editing system preferred.
- Organizational skills and the ability to work under constant time pressure deadlines
- Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news situations and changing events

At WKYC-TV, you'll be a key, hands-on operator, working closely with the Production Lead to maintain efficient and high-quality daily productions for news, marketing, and sales content. Responsibilities:
· Serve as the technical liaison for news production and operations, ensuring seamless daily broadcasts, and assign tasks related to production and operations.
· Will take ownership of creating visually compelling content ensuring among other things visual angles, lighting and set arrangements.
· Setup, position, and operate robotic studio cameras as needed based on direction from the Production Lead or supervisors.
· Collaborate with engineering to optimize streaming systems and control room equipment for production needs.
· Assist the Production Lead in organizing and preparing technical elements for special events and breaking news coverage.
· Support the implementation of standard operating procedures to maintain workflow efficiency and broadcast quality.
· Maintain effective technical communication with the newsroom and engineering departments to ensure systems are operational.
· Commit to continuous, high-quality technical support for live coverage of breaking news and community events.
Requirements:
· Associate’s degree or equivalent technical training in broadcasting, media production, or a related field preferred.
· 1+ years of hands-on television broadcast or live production (both linear and digital) experience preferred.
· Demonstrated technical aptitude and proficiency in operating production control room equipment.
