This role requires the skills of a traditional linear broadcast producer with an affinity or interest in show production. It will be delivered exclusively to customers with connected televisions and apps. This role is to produce for a TEGNA corporate streaming channel that will be based out of Charlotte, North Carolina.

•    Booth continuous coverage on our live streams for breaking news and community events.

•    Edit together video specials/re-racked content that will work for VOD purposes. 
•    Use data analytics to help shape the content of your show.

Requirements: 
•    Bachelor’s degree preferred in journalism, communications or related field. 
•    Minimum 2 years of news producing experience. 
•    Top-notch communication skills. 
•    Solid journalistic judgment and a news philosophy that emphasizes accurate, fair and unique content. 
•    Understanding of the tenets of professional journalism. 
•    Skills in producing engaging, content-driven newscasts and digital content. 
•    Organizational skills and the ability to work under deadlines. 
•    Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news situations and changing events. 
•    Experience using VMix (or similar system), ENPS and desktop video editing software such as Edius, strongly preferred. 
•    Desire to live and work in-person in Charlotte, North Carolina.

• Strong on-camera delivery with the ability to ad-lib.

• Sound news judgment and a proven track record of recognizing enterprise content. 
• Experience using ENPS and desktop video editing software such as Edius, strongly preferred.

• Lead the newscast and/or streaming show from ideation through execution — editorially and visually.

• Execute continuous live coverage during breaking news, severe weather, and major community events.
• Produce across platforms, writing for broadcast, streaming, digital, and social with platform-specific intent.
• Use data and audience insights to refine content and improve engagement.
• Collaborate closely with newsroom leadership, anchors, digital teams, and production staff to maintain editorial consistency and technical excellence.
• Innovate in storytelling and show design, bringing new energy to both streaming and linear formats.

Requirements:

What We’re Looking For

• 1–3 years of producing experience (or equivalent newsroom experience with strong show ownership).
• Strong editorial judgment and the ability to make confident decisions in high-pressure, live environments.
• Proven ability to manage multiple elements of a show under tight deadlines.
• Clear communicator who can lead a team through breaking news calmly and decisively.
• Comfortable with evolving production systems and new technology; experience with vMix, Edius, ENPS, or similar platforms is a plus.
• Have a winning mentality, a growth mindset and a team-first attitude would be a perfect fit.
