About the Role
We’re looking for an AI Agent Engineer – a software engineer with deep experience in ML, LLMs, and/or agentic systems – to help push the limits of our internal agent framework and shape its design.
You’ll work side-by-side with researchers, ML engineers, and leadership to turn ambitious ideas into real-world systems. Expect to move fast, handle ambiguity, and fill the critical execution gap between research and production.
📍 This is an onsite role based in our SF office (345 California St).
- Design new agentic systems in our framework that were previously infeasible elsewhere — and test their limits.
- Implement and evaluate open-source agentic systems (and customer-specific ones) within our framework.
- Identify and solve bottlenecks in today’s agent ecosystem (e.g. context engineering, MCP constraints, inter-agent communication, memory).
- Stay ahead of the curve by tracking new research and incorporating cutting-edge AI features as they’re released.
- Deep understanding of LLM architecture and inference-time optimisation.
- Strong knowledge of the agentic ecosystem (frameworks, tools, MCP servers, MAS architectures).
- Track record of rapid prototyping in the LLM/agent space.
- Experience orchestrating and evaluating complex multi-agent systems.
- Solid software engineering skills in Python and/or TypeScript.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with autonomous, dynamic multi-agent systems (beyond DAGs).
- Context engineering expertise.
- Embedding models & RAG.
- Improving model performance via fine-tuning.

About this role
You will own Symbolica’s external narrative end to end, with a bias toward shipping: clear messaging, crisp writing, and a steady drumbeat of visibility that makes Agentica unavoidable in the right circles. You will translate research into product relevance, turn product reality into market pull, and build a repeatable comms and marketing engine that earns high-quality media and conference presence for our brand and CEO while also driving adoption through customer-facing channels. This is a hands-on role based onsite, designed for someone who has operated inside a real tech company and knows how to move fast without sounding like a campaign or agency.

Your focus
- Own Symbolica’s positioning and messaging across every surface area: website, product, docs, blogs, emails, decks, social, partner materials, and founder narratives, collaborating closely with our Brand and Design Lead
- Build and run launch and ongoing programs that create sustained awareness and adoption: announcements, blogs, content series, community and developer campaigns, partner pushes, and moment-making.
- Lead PR and earned media: manage journalist relationships, drive a consistent cadence of high-quality interviews, speaking opportunities, and features, and ensure every story lands with precision.
- Build our executive’s external presence: speaker strategy, pipeline, event targeting, talk abstracts, support, and amplification to convert attention into inbound.
- Run customer-facing comms ops: product announcements, lifecycle emails, newsroom updates, website refresh cadence, and narrative consistency across all customer touchpoints.
About you
- You have shipped marketing and comms inside a high-performing tech company, ideally developer or infrastructure adjacent, and you can show work that changed outcomes.
- You are an exceptional writer and editor who can sound technical without being dense, and who can create crisp narrative frameworks that other teams can actually use.
- You have strong PR instincts and operator chops: you can build a media plan, manage relationships, pitch effectively, and turn coverage into a compounding program.
- You have taste and judgment: you know what is credible, what is hype, what is premature, and how to make ambitious work feel inevitable without overclaiming.
- You are low ego, high ownership, fast, and calm under pressure. You collaborate tightly with founders, push for clarity, and handle sensitive narrative decisions with discretion.

About The Role
We’re looking for Senior Software Engineers with knowledge of Rust to take full ownership of delivering working systems from prototypes and high-level specs — taking ideas from the research team, turning them into production-quality systems, and shipping them quickly. You’ll work closely with researchers, ML engineers, and leadership to turn ambitious ideas into real products. You'll be expected to move fast, handle ambiguity, and fill the critical execution gap between research and production.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives on shipping — who sees incomplete specs as an opportunity, not a blocker — and who wants to build systems that work reliably, at scale, and in the real world.
📍 This is an onsite role based in our SF office.
Your Focus
- Translate research prototypes and high-level concepts into production-quality software
- Own deliverables end-to-end: take specifications, clarify requirements, and execute to completion
- Build systems that are correct, reliable, maintainable, and performant
- Work closely with ML researchers and engineers to integrate research outputs into functional systems
- Own critical engineering tasks with high standards and attention to detail — data pipelines, API integrations, testing, error handling, system integration, and more
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architecture planning
- Contribute to improving processes for how we build, ship, and deliver features across teams
About You
- 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
- Proven ability to execute on incomplete specs and drive projects to completion
- Strong experience writing production-quality code (Python & Rust strongly preferred)
- Comfortable building full-stack systems (APIs, data pipelines, microservices, internal tools)
- High standards for code quality, maintainability, and correctness
- Comfortable in fast-moving, ambiguous environments where priorities shift quickly
- Bias for ownership: you see what needs to get done and take responsibility for delivering
- Experience supporting ML research or building ML infrastructure is a plus
- Deep understanding of LLM architecture and inference-time optimisation.
- Strong knowledge of the agentic ecosystem (frameworks, tools, MCP servers, MAS architectures).
- Track record of rapid prototyping in the LLM/agent space.
- Experience orchestrating and evaluating complex multi-agent systems.
