COOK

This is an entry-level line cook position for individuals who are familiar with basic cooking principles and techniques, have a firm understanding of all basic food safety principles, and can identify and use standard cooking equipment. Daily tasks will focus on food preparation and operating a station at one of our various food outlets, according to leadership’s specifications. The cook position supports SpaceX’s success by providing quality food options that boost morale and productivity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Set up, work, and maintain a clean and safe workstation
Complete daily prep tasks
Help the team meet time and quality standards set by the supervisor
Cook and plate completed dishes for service
Clean kitchen equipment and work/storage areas

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalency certificate
Culinary degree or 2+ years of experience in the food service industry

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Basic knife skills and knowledge of kitchen equipment
Possession of or willingness to obtain a food handler card
High level of professionalism
Experience in a corporate environment
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook primarily)
Understanding of standard kitchen hierarchy and roles
Understanding of basic cooking methods, including sauce making and meat and vegetable preparations
Sound understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
Willingness to learn and take guidance from others

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to carry large heavy items, such as dishes in tubs or trays unassisted (up to 25 lbs.)
Ability to stand for long periods of time – up to 8 hours a day
Ability to work all shifts and be available for overtime and weekends, as needed
Ability to perform frequent bending, stooping, and lifting of objects

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:

Cook/Level 1: $23.00/hour

Cook/Level 2: $25.00/hour

Cook/Level 3: $27.00/hour

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You will also receive access to comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, access to a 401(k) retirement plan, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, and various other discounts and perks. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year. Employees in Washington State accrue paid sick time in compliance with state and federal law. Company shuttles are offered to employees for roundtrip travel from select Seattle locations to the SpaceX Redmond office Monday to Friday.

We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system – thousands of satellites, consumer antennae that allow users to connect within minutes of unboxing, and the software that brings it all together. We’ve only begun to scratch the surface of Starlink’s potential global impact, and that work starts here at our Redmond Campus. We are looking for experienced food service personnel to help us create world-class experiences for our growing teams.

As a porter at SpaceX, you will be interacting with our guests (employees), fellow staff members, and management staff in our private restaurant as well as throughout the campus, in a polite and courteous manner. You will also help with restocking supplies, staging for takeaway options and other duties assigned by kitchen management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrate sanitation and food safety practices consistently
Help evaluate receiving spaces to ensure a safe and secure environment
Complete daily, weekly, and monthly tasks timely and accurately
Follow company safety standards and look out for the safety of other team members and guests
Coordinate job duties around other team members to help ensure efficient preparation for opening of service
Put food order away accurately and rotate stock in cooler, freezer, and dry storage area using the first in-first out (FIFO) method while monitoring shelf life and code dates
Maintain a basic working knowledge of the operation of all the equipment in the restaurant

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalency certificate
1+ year of either restaurant experience, warehouse experience, and/or customer service experience

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Restaurant experience
Porter experience
Inventory experience
Current and valid WA food handler’s card or equivalent
Ability to work well with others and be self-driven
Complete other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the manager on duty

2nd Shift: Monday - Friday: 11AM – 930PM

BARISTA

The barista role is a team-oriented role for individuals who are familiar with basic customer service principles and have a firm understanding of all basic food and beverage safety principles. A barista should have the ability to identify and utilize food service equipment including but not limited to, manual espresso machines, drip coffee brewers, coffee bean grinders, frozen yogurt machines, and serving utensils. The barista position supports the mission of SpaceX by providing quality customer service, a welcoming atmosphere, and accurate order fulfillment to help ensure our services boost morale and productivity across the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide good customer service
