Role Summary:
Sonatus builds the software platform for AI-enabled, software-defined vehicles. Our engineering teams produce firmware and system images that run on physical automotive hardware — ECUs, and evaluation boards — not cloud microservices. We are looking for a Sr. Staff DevOps Engineer to own and modernize the global lab infrastructure that makes this work possible: bare-metal build servers, enterprise storage, lab networking, and the automation layer that ties it all together across three sites (Sunnyvale, Seoul, and Dublin).
This is a hands-on technical leadership role. You will define the infrastructure-as-code strategy for an environment that currently runs on manual processes, build the observability and automation that replaces reactive firefighting, and mentor an existing team into modern DevOps engineering practices. You will be the technical authority for how our physical infrastructure is provisioned, configured, monitored, and scaled.
Responsibilities:
Build infrastructure reliability — Own the availability, performance, and capacity planning for bare-metal Jenkins controllers and build agents across three global lab sites. These are rack servers, managed switches, and NFS storage arrays — real hardware that builds real firmware.
Infrastructure as Code — Lead the migration from manual configuration to codified infrastructure. Terraform for provisioning, Ansible for configuration management. The current baseline is zero IaC — you will design the target state and the migration path to get there.
Hybrid networking — Own the lab network layer: VLANs, internal DNS zone administration, VPN and Transit Gateway connectivity between sites, and lab-to-cloud routing. You will be the person who understands how packets move between a build agent in Sunnyvale and a test board in Seoul.
Storage architecture — Design and operate the NFS storage layer (Pure Storage FlashArray) for build workspaces, artifact caching, and test output persistence. Define the policy layer: volume provisioning, snapshot strategy, capacity alerting, and lifecycle management.
CI/CD platform infrastructure — Own the platform that pipelines run on: agent provisioning, credential management, controller health, and capacity planning. You share ownership of pipeline architecture with the DevOps Manager and existing staff, but the infrastructure underneath is yours.
Observability — Instrument the build and lab infrastructure with OpenTelemetry. Define SLOs, build dashboards, and create alerting that replaces the current model of "someone notices it's broken."
Hardware test infrastructure — Contribute to the strategy for board reservation, ECU test automation, and the integration points between CI/CD pipelines and physical test hardware.
Requirements:
- 10+ years in infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE roles, with meaningful time spent on physical and bare-metal infrastructure — not exclusively cloud-native environments
- Infrastructure as Code — Deep hands-on experience with Terraform and Ansible (or equivalent provisioning and configuration management tools). You've migrated environments from manual to codified, not just maintained existing IaC
- Linux systems administration — You can debug a production server over SSH: networking, storage, process management, systemd, log analysis. This is a daily skill, not a resume line
- CI/CD platform administration — Experience operating Jenkins at scale (multiple controllers, distributed agents, shared libraries) or equivalent enterprise CI/CD platform. You understand the platform layer, not just pipeline syntax
- Enterprise networking — Working knowledge of VLANs, DNS administration (BIND, dnsmasq, or similar), VPN and site-to-site connectivity, and how lab networks integrate with cloud environments
- Mentorship — Demonstrated ability to drive adoption of engineering practices across a team. You've raised the floor, not just the ceiling
- Multi-site operations — Experience working across geographically distributed infrastructure with different local constraints
Nice to Have:
- NFS or SAN storage administration (Pure Storage, NetApp, or similar enterprise arrays)
- Embedded systems build toolchains (Yocto, Bazel, cross-compilation environments)

The Opportunity
The Updater team is responsible for the successful deployment of firmware, vehicle applications, and vehicle configurations to the vehicle. The Updater is a key component in delivering a successful software-defined vehicle solution — it's how new features, fixes, and configurations actually reach the car after it leaves the factory. In this role, you will participate in the design and implementation of the updater software running on the vehicle. You will contribute to defining the updater interfaces between the cloud and the vehicle, as well as the update agents that handle different types of target assets. You will report directly to the Engineering Manager of Vehicle Development
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded C++ software for vehicle-side asset update systems, including update orchestration, campaign management, and software distribution
- Implement and integrate communication interfaces for coordination between vehicle services
- Collaborate with cloud platform teams to integrate end-to-end for campaign delivery, status reporting, and asset inventory management
- Write unit tests and integration tests to ensure update reliability and safety across diverse vehicle configurations

Required Qualifications

Sonatus is seeking a highly motivated Senior/Staff AI Engineer to join our Customer Engineering (CE) team and help deliver AI-driven solutions for automotive OEM and Tier-1 customers. In this role, you will work directly with customers to understand real-world challenges in their vehicle environments and translate those challenges into practical solutions using Sonatus AI technologies. A key responsibility of this role is to integrate and deploy AI capabilities on top of the Sonatus AI platform within cloud environments (Sonatus or customer-managed) while ensuring seamless interaction with vehicle-side systems and data. Role Overview:
As the DevOps Manager, you will lead the operational strategy for our hybrid infrastructure and developer ecosystem. Your primary focus is the governance and administration of our core platforms—including GitHub, Jira, and Development Tools—alongside high-level oversight of our Bare Metal fleet. You will be the primary stakeholder for our AWS cloud budget, ensuring financial efficiency through active management and optimization. This role reports to the VP of Developer Experience.
Responsibilities:
- Global Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a distributed team of six DevOps engineers in Sunnyvale, California, and Dublin, Ireland. Foster a collaborative culture that overcomes time-zone challenges and ensures 24/7 infrastructure reliability.
- AWS Financial Management: You will actively use AWS Cost Explorer and other billing tools to identify savings, manage Reserved Instances and Savings Plans, and provide regular financial reporting to leadership.
- Platform Administration: Be responsible for the company’s GitHub organization and Jira instance. You will manage user lifecycle, access permissions, and repository/project governance.
- Tooling Management: Lead the rollout and management of productivity tools (e.g., GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory). You will manage seat licensing, monitor usage trends, and ensure these tools align with company security and budget policies.
- Infrastructure Coordination: Oversee the health and lifecycle of Bare Metal servers and AWS resources. You will coordinate with the engineering team on hardware refreshes and resource scaling.
- Automation & CI/CD Oversight: Ensure the team maintains consistent standards using Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions. You will provide technical direction and process oversight to ensure pipelines remain efficient and reliable.
- Operational Excellence: Demonstrated experience overseeing the architecture and administration of production-grade Kubernetes clusters, with a focus on optimizing container orchestration, auto-scaling, and high availability.
- Security Governance: Monitor the integration of Coverity (SAST) and Black Duck (SCA) within our deployment workflows, ensuring security compliance is met without disrupting developer velocity.
Requirements:
- Experience: 8-12 years of experience in DevOps, with at least 3-5 years of that in people management.
- Cloud Finance: Proven experience managing AWS budgets, including cost optimization, right-sizing, and utilization of Savings Plans/Reserved Instances.
- Administration: Solid experience administering GitHub Enterprise and Jira at an organizational or departmental level.
- Infrastructure Awareness: Working knowledge of Bare Metal server management (provisioning, hardware specs) and core AWS infrastructure services.

Role Summary:
Sonatus builds the software platform for AI-enabled, software-defined vehicles. Our CI/CD platform serves over 200 repositories across three product lines, producing firmware that ships to automotive OEMs. We are looking for a Sr. Staff DevOps Engineer to own the delivery platform: CI/CD pipelines, release automation, artifact management, build tooling, and the instrumentation that tells us whether it's all working.
Today, our delivery infrastructure is fragmented — multiple Jenkins instances configured by hand, release processes driven by ad-hoc scripts, and no unified metrics on how software moves from commit to customer. You will consolidate this into a unified, codified, observable delivery platform. You think in terms of systems, supply chains, and feedback loops — not individual pipelines.
Responsibilities:
CI/CD platform architecture — Own the consolidation and evolution of multiple Jenkins instances into a unified, configuration-as-code managed platform. Drive the migration strategy across Jenkins and GitHub Actions for 200+ repositories. Design shared pipeline libraries and patterns that scale across product lines without fragmenting into per-team forks.
Release engineering — Own the release tooling and automation for multi-product releases spanning three hardware platforms and multiple automotive customers. Tagging, branching, config generation, and customer artifact delivery. The current toolchain is functional but brittle — your job is to make releases reliable, repeatable, and auditable.
Artifact lifecycle management — Own the Artifactory platform (JFrog SaaS): repository structure, retention policies, token lifecycle, build promotion from staging to release, and customer-facing distribution. You manage the full artifact flow from build output to customer delivery.
Build tooling and reproducibility — Own the build system architecture across three divergent toolchains: Bazel for hermetic static builds, CMake for the embedded monorepo, and Yocto for custom embedded distributions. Drive toward reproducible, cacheable, fast builds regardless of the underlying toolchain.
Security scanning integration — Own the integration of static analysis (Coverity) and software composition analysis (BlackDuck) into CI/CD pipelines. Automate scan scheduling, report generation, and quality gate enforcement to meet automotive compliance requirements (ESIR-ISIR).
CI/CD observability and DORA metrics — Instrument the delivery pipeline with OpenTelemetry. Define and measure the four DORA metrics: deployment frequency, lead time for changes, change failure rate, and mean time to recovery. Build dashboards that make delivery health visible. Own the 30-minute build SLO.
Software supply chain — Own dependency management, credential lifecycle, artifact provenance, and the path toward SBOM generation. Eliminate manual credential management and single-person dependencies from the delivery pipeline. Every artifact should be traceable from the source commit to customer delivery.
Requirements:
- 10+ years in DevOps, SRE, or release engineering, with hands-on ownership of CI/CD platforms at scale — not just pipeline authoring, but platform architecture, reliability, and evolution
- CI/CD platform expertise — Deep experience with Jenkins (multi-controller, shared libraries, JCasC, distributed agents) or equivalent enterprise CI/CD platform. You've operated the platform, not just consumed it
- Release engineering — You have owned or built release automation for a multi-product software organization. You understand branching strategies, semantic versioning, promotion workflows, and customer delivery mechanics
- Artifact management — Experience with JFrog Artifactory, Nexus, or similar. You've designed repository structures, managed token lifecycles, and implemented retention policies at scale
- Infrastructure as Code mindset — Terraform or equivalent for managing platform configuration as code. You treat configuration drift as a bug. Jenkins configured through a UI is a problem to solve, not a steady state
- Observability and instrumentation — You have implemented DORA metrics, build SLOs, or equivalent delivery pipeline instrumentation. Experience with Prometheus/Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or similar stacks

Role Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Staff AI Engineer with a combination of architectural expertise and production rigor to lead the development of an Agentic Framework to support our AI applications. As our Hardware Prototyping & Lab Lead, you will be the cornerstone of the physical engineering environment where the future of Software-Defined Vehicles (SDV) comes to life. While Sonatus is a software-first company, our breakthrough technology requires a world-class hardware foundation to bridge the gap between code and the road.
You won't just be managing a lab; you’ll be a critical enabler for our engineering teams, ensuring they have the infrastructure, prototypes, and technical support needed to deploy AI-enabled software into vehicles worldwide. This role offers the unique opportunity to blend administrative leadership with deep hands-on technical execution, managing the transition of high-precision diagnostic tools and gateways from prototype to specialized, low-volume production. Given the highly collaborative and physical nature of our engineering labs, this role is 100% onsite at our Sunnyvale headquarters. You will report directly to our Senior Manager of Hardware Engineering.

Roles & Responsibilities
Lab Administration & Operations:
- End-to-End Lab Management: Oversee the organization, inventory, and lifecycle management of all lab equipment, electronic components, and consumable supplies.
- Infrastructure Excellence: Lead the procurement, installation, and optimization of lab infrastructure to meet evolving engineering needs.
- Compliance & Maintenance: Coordinate the rigorous calibration, maintenance, and repair schedules for specialized test equipment.
- Operational Support: Manage the Engineering Hardware Lab Jira ticketing system to prioritize and resolve technical requests efficiently.
Prototype Development & Specialized Production:
- Low-Volume Production Support: Execute programming for critical devices (CPLDs, Flash, EEPROMs) and perform mechanical integration for specialized system builds.
- Harness Architecture & Design: Translate system-level block diagrams into detailed wiring schematics and harness drawings, including connector selection, pin-out definitions, and wire gauge calculations for power and high-speed data.
- Functional Validation: Perform comprehensive functional testing and mechanical integration for early-stage prototypes and low-volume production units.
- Root Cause Analysis: Conduct deep-dive debugging and failure analysis on non-functional units to drive design and manufacturing improvements.
- Custom Interconnects: Design and fabricate custom cable harnesses and specialized wiring solutions for vehicle integration and diagnostic testing.
- Automation Synergy: Utilize and interpret code/scripts from QA automation to streamline testing processes within a Linux-based environment.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Engineering Partnership: Act as a key technical collaborator for hardware, software, and QA engineers on complex development tasks.
- Environment Stewardship: Ensure a safe, orderly, and highly productive hardware lab environment that reflects Sonatus’ high standards.
Requirements
- Proven Expertise: Extensive experience in hardware lab management and technical support, ideally within a fast-paced R&D or development environment.
- Harness Design Expertise: Proven experience using CAD or specialized wiring tools (e.g., RapidHarness, Visio, or AutoCAD Electrical) to design complex automotive or aerospace cable assemblies.
- Technical Literacy: Advanced ability to read and interpret complex schematics and high-density PCB layouts.
- Hands-on Debugging: Expert-level proficiency in electronic test and debug using DMMs, oscilloscopes, and regulated power supplies.
- Networking Fundamentals: Solid understanding of basic networking concepts, including LANs, subnets, TCP/IP, and automotive interconnect standards (1000baseT1 & CAN).
- Software Fluency: Familiarity with coding concepts and the ability to navigate Linux environments and read basic scripts.
- Physical Capability: Ability to lift and move equipment up to 25 pounds.

The Opportunity:
Sonatus is seeking a highly motivated Staff AI Engineer with expertise in data analytics and modeling to build AI-based software for next-generation AI-driven software-defined vehicles. You will be critical in accelerating software innovations that solve complex, real-world customer problems.
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end data exploration, analytics, and modeling on large-scale, multi-source data to uncover insights and drive business outcomes.
- Architect, design, develop, and deploy optimized data analytics algorithms, models, and solutions.
- Drive the development of agentic AI applications leveraging data processing and analytics pipelines.
Requirements:
- In-depth theoretical and practical knowledge of a wide range of Data Science and Machine Learning algorithms, including Deep Learning (e.g., CNNs, RNNs, Transformers) and Reinforcement Learning.
- Strong Python programming skills with extensive experience using data analysis and ML frameworks and libraries.
