Rather than focusing on a single product, you will jump in to design, implement, and maintain the diverse systems that power government services, addressing whatever engineering hurdles arise to best serve the public and our government partners.

The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) is expanding its Digital Services team during an exciting period of growth, focused on delivering modern, user-centered digital products, exploring AI-enablement opportunities, and building long-term technical capacity.
In this role, you'll hit the ground running in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment — coordinating immediately with researchers, designers, engineers, and government stakeholders to deliver against an ambitious vision from day one. This role sits at the intersection of product strategy, change management, enablement, and service delivery, and demands someone who can orient quickly, build trust across teams, and ensure new digital capabilities are not only built, but understood, usable, and sustained.

You’ll apply modern engineering practices to improve complex workflows, integrate with existing defense systems, and deliver resilient solutions that enhance usability, operational efficiency, and mission readiness. Working in close collaboration with cross-functional teammates and government partners, you’ll help modernize legacy environments while ensuring performance, security, and reliability at scale.

At Skylight, a security engineer stays up to date with the cutting edge of security and helps Skylight implement new processes, tools, and remediations. They’re familiar with modern software development and work in cross-functional teams to inform and guide security best practices at all stages of the software development life cycle.
In this role, you’ll partner with a mission-critical organization within the U.S. Air Force Special Operations community to secure and modernize complex digital environments that underpin highly specialized operations. Leveraging your expertise in DoD Security Ops, NIST RMF, and Kubernetes, you’ll ensure the delivery of secure, scalable solutions that maintain ATO compliance and mission readiness. You will be responsible for the security posture of a software portfolio for the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) through our BESPIN partnership, with a primary focus on implementing innovative and flexible security frameworks for mobile applications and CI/CD pipelines.
