This remote job is targeting candidates for our South America Office.
Simplistic is looking for a Retention Designer to be a key member of our high-growth Retention Team. Unlike our core site design team, the Retention Designer focuses exclusively on the post-purchase customer journey and lifecycle marketing. You will own all facets of email and retention design, including content strategy, visual hierarchy, and high-conversion interaction design.
We are looking for a specialist who understands that email design is a balance of art and performance. You must have a sharp attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to iterate quickly based on data and feedback while meeting tight agency deadlines.

As a Retention Designer, this role could include:
- Ideate and design high-performing email campaigns and automated flows (welcome series, abandoned cart, etc.) that align with client brand identity
- Apply deep knowledge of email best practices, including mobile-first design, clear visual hierarchy, and CTA optimization to drive clicks
- Ensure all designs are optimized for dark mode, accessibility, and deliverability-safe coding
- Work within and contribute to design systems and component libraries in Figma to ensure consistency across multiple brands
- Partner closely with copywriters and Klaviyo implementers to move projects from concept to deployment seamlessly
- Present design solutions to clients, utilizing data-driven insights to back up your creative choices
Required Competencies
- 3+ years in graphic design with at least 2+ years specifically focused on designing marketing emails for e-commerce/DTC brands
- Strong portfolio showcasing conversion-focused email and lifecycle work
- Experience with Klaviyo or similar ESP (Email Service Provider) platforms
- Proficiency with Cloud-based Design tools like Figma
- Advance understanding of email design best practices
- Experience with Shopify/Shopify Plus
- Ability to manage multiple brands and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
Preferred Competencies
- Experience working in an agency or multi-client environment
- Basic understanding of HTML/CSS for email design constraints
- Exposure to A/B testing and performance-driven iteration
