THE OPPORTUNITY

Silvus is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior R&D Software Engineer to join our Research & Development team. In this pivotal role, you will report to the Senior Director of R&D, Electronic Warfare and lead the software design and implementation for next-generation Networked Electronic Warfare (EW) systems.

The successful individual in this role will bridge the gap between complex embedded real-time processing and distributed network architectures, developing robust software that coordinates sensing and effects across multiple platforms. This position requires a strong foundation in modern software engineering practices, including DevOps and CI/CD, and the ability to collaborate effectively within multi-organizational engineering teams to deliver mission-critical capabilities.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Software Architecture & Development: Design, develop, and optimize high-performance embedded software for networked EW applications, ranging from low-level driver integration to high-level application logic.
• DevOps & CI/CD Implementation: Architect and maintain modern CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, integration, and deployment, ensuring high code quality and rapid iteration cycles.
• System Integration: Collaborate with hardware, RF, and systems engineers to integrate software with complex RF subsystems, validating performance in both lab and field environments.
• Cross-Organizational Collaboration: Act as a key technical liaison for multi-organizational projects, coordinating API definitions, interface control documents (ICDs), and integration strategies with external partners and government stakeholders.
• Algorithm Implementation: Translate signal processing and networking algorithms into efficient, real-time C/C++ code suitable for resource-constrained embedded targets.
• Code Quality & Mentorship: Lead code reviews, enforce coding standards, and mentor junior engineers in best practices for software design, testing, and documentation.
• Travel Requirements - occasional travel for team meetings at headquarters in Los Angeles, CA or other locations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on embedded systems.
• Technical Proficiency:
  • Expert proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
  • Deep understanding of embedded Linux
  • Proven experience with DevOps methodologies and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong familiarity with version control (Git), issue tracking (Jira), and agile development methodologies.
• Security Clearance: Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one within 12 months of hire.

• Domain Expertise: Prior experience developing software for Electronic Warfare (EW), Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), Radar, or Tactical Wireless Communications systems.
• Hardware Interfaces: Familiarity with interfacing software with FPGA-based systems and controlling RF hardware (software defined radios, transceivers).

Market Shaping & Strategic Engagement

• Serve as Silvus’ senior representative to the U.S. Navy, shaping demand across NAVWAR, PEO C4I, OPNAV staffs, Fleet Forces Command, Warfare Centers, and operational Fleet elements.
• Influence Navy capability development aligned with DMO, Naval Operational Architecture, and JADC2.
• Position Silvus Technologies as mission-critical enablers for resilient afloat, ship-to-ship, ship-to-shore, and distributed maritime networking.

Requirements Influence & Early Advocacy

• Shape alignment between Silvus capabilities and Navy networking priorities.
• Engage early in experimentation, prototyping, and concept development.
• Cultivate advocacy among senior Navy leaders, requirements officers, and program managers.

Strategic Coordination & Internal Alignment

• Serve as the senior “market anchor” for the U.S. Navy, coordinating a team-based pursuit model across Business Development, DoD Account Sales, and OEM / Prime Sales.
• Become aligned and coordinate with internal stakeholders (Sales, Engineering, Product, Capture, Executive Leadership) to deliver unified messaging and pursuit strategy for priority programs.
• Partner with Motorola Solutions and MSI Government Affairs to synchronize advocacy and policy outreach.
• Ensure disciplined handoff of shaped opportunities.

Intelligence & Insight

• Provide continuous market insight to Silvus leadership—capturing trends in Navy network modernization, tactical communications, and EW/spectrum management.

Accountability & Impact

• Develop and execute the U.S. Navy Market Development Plan, defining shaping objectives, key relationships, and pursuit milestones in coordination with US Navy Sales/BD stakeholders.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma/GED.
• A minimum of 8 years of demonstrated experience in strategic relationship management, account management, or government relations within the defense industry.
• Senior-level Navy or Navy-supporting experience in modernization, C5ISR, tactical communications, or spectrum/EW applications.
• Pre-existing, established, and verifiable network of contacts at senior levels within the U.S. Navy (NAVWAR, OPNAV, PEO C4I, Fleet commands, etc.).

THE OPPORTUNITY

The North America (NA) Sales Operations Manager works with and directly reports to the Senior Director, Sales Operations.  The successful individual in this role is focused on supporting the North America Silvus Sales Vice President and the sales teams with all operational tasks to drive efficiency across the sales team for forecasting and reporting. The North America Silvus Sales team is responsible for the sales of Silvus products, software and services via the extensive network of Channel partners and Direct customers through legacy MSI sales.  This position is eligible for 100% remote work depending on location.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Working closely with the Silvus sales Team to drive efficiencies and growth.
• Provide support to the North America Sales Vice President and Silvus sales team:
  • Daily, weekly, quarterly and annual forecasting & committed view reporting.
  • Operation reviews and Quarterly Business review presentations and support.
  • Analyzing sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Managing and maintaining CRM data to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Collaborating with the sales team to develop and implement sales strategies and tactics to drive growth and new opportunities.
  • Creating regular reports and dashboards to track sales performance and KPIs.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Director of Business Development, US Navy reports to the Vice President of Strategic Growth on the Business Development. This role is responsible for long-term horizon scanning and opportunity shaping, focusing on managing and driving multi-year pursuits for assigned strategic programs. The Director of BD will build deep and wide relationships with all buying influences (end-user, OEM, prime, reseller, PM offices) to influence capability requirements towards Silvus solutions and capture large, long-cycle programs.

• Program Capture: Take ownership of and drive the capture process for large-scale, multi-year US Navy programs.
