Role Summary

Scale is accelerating the development of AI across the world's most important organizations. The Forward Deployed PM is the person who makes enterprise deployments succeed from the product side — embedded with customers, shaping real production outcomes, and translating messy operational reality into high-signal input for the core platform.

This is not a roadmap PM, a CSM, or a solutions engineer. The FDPM owns product outcomes inside a portfolio of enterprise accounts: earning deep trust with senior customer stakeholders, driving deployments to production, identifying where the product is the bottleneck vs. execution, and feeding durable, specific signal back to the platform team. The best FDPMs have shipped products into large organizations and can tell the difference between a customer's stated request, their actual problem, and what the platform should do.

What You'll Do

• Own product outcomes for our highest impact enterprise accounts. You are the accountable PM for product delivery and customer value.
• Build trusted advisory relationships with VP/C-level buyers and senior technical leads. Become the reliable escalation point on the Scale side before issues surface externally.
• Drive deployments from contract to production. You have done this before for large organizations. You know what 'production-ready' actually means and you close the gap.
• Translate real customer workflows, friction, and priorities into high-signal product input for core platform teams. Not requirements docs — specific, evidence-backed product perspective with tradeoffs articulated.
• Distinguish where the product is the constraint from where execution, integration, or change management is. Drive each type of blocker to resolution through the right channel.
• Partner closely with FDEs so the account runs as a coordinated team, not a set of parallel workstreams.
• Identify and develop expansion opportunities grounded in demonstrated customer value 
• Represent customer reality to platform and leadership with enough credibility that it changes decisions.

What We're Looking For

Core Competencies

• Enterprise deployment ownership: has driven AI/ML or complex software products from contract to production at scale, with real integration, real security constraints, real change management.
• Product judgment in the field: translates customer reality into product direction, not just feature requests; can say no credibly and explain why.
• Customer trust-building: earns and maintains trust with demanding senior stakeholders over multi-quarter engagements; manages conflict without eroding the relationship.
• Technical translation: bridges the gap between customer engineering teams and Scale platform engineers; does not relay messages, adds interpretation.
• Operating in ambiguity: creates structure where there is none; makes decisions with incomplete information; does not wait for fully defined requirements.
• Clear, precise communication: adjusts for audience (exec vs. engineer vs. PM); writes and speaks at the right level of detail; does not over-explain or under-explain.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 6+ years in product management, technical program management, or a customer-facing product ownership role.
• Demonstrated record of shipping products or platform capabilities into large organizations — not pilots or proofs-of-concept. You can name the customer, the scale, the integration, and what production actually looked like.
• Extreme ownership and follow-through: closes loops without reminders, drives outcomes across teams without formal authority, holds self and others to commitments.
• Comfortable operating with senior customer stakeholders (VP/C-level) and senior engineers simultaneously; credible presence in high-stakes rooms on both sides.
• Strong judgment under pressure: makes good calls quickly with incomplete information, knows when to escalate vs. resolve, does not generate thrash.
• Technical fluency sufficient to hold a real conversation with a platform engineer about architectural tradeoffs — not deep coding, but genuine comprehension of how systems work in production.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience with AI/ML platform products — data labeling, RLHF, fine-tuning workflows, or model evaluation pipelines.
• Experience in a startup or early-stage environment where process didn't exist and had to be created.
• Prior forward-deployed or embedded role (consulting, field PM, solutions engineering with ownership).

We are seeking an experienced product manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in building AI solutions with and for our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of software engineering principles and practices and deep experience with ML/AI application development. You will be responsible for owning large AI projects for one or many customers. 

You will:

• Develop enterprise grade solutions that leverage cutting edge AI to drive business value at world class companies across many industries. 
• Work with executives at Scale and our customers to determine and execute the product strategy of the business.
• Own end-to-end product development by understanding customer pain points, defining product requirements, managing development, testing, and launches.
• Lead cross-functional teams including engineering, product design, operations, marketing, go-to-market and finance.
• Develop a point of view and execute on turning the solutions we build into repeatable software that we can commercialize across the industry. 

Ideally you’d have:

• Technical degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of experience in building ML-powered products, experience in enterprise-facing products is a plus
• Strong understanding of generative AI technologies and their applications in enterprise settings
• Experience operating in a fast-paced environment with high ambiguity
• Exceptional leadership, presentation and communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
• Some coding experience (Python)

Role Summary

Lead a high-stakes team of Product Managers responsible for successful delivery and integration of Scale products into complex customer environments. Own the feedback loop that converts bespoke field wins into scalable, repeatable product strategy, partnering deeply with Sales/GTM and EPD (Eng/Product/Design).

Core Responsibilities

• Hire, mentor, and deploy PMs across strategic accounts (e.g., Fortune 100, government).
• Identify patterns across deployments; decide which bespoke solutions should move from custom to core product.
• Primary product partner to Sales/GTM leadership to align roadmap with market demand.
• Provide strategic + technical oversight to unblock high-priority deployments in “red zones.”
• Champion the voice of the field within internal EPD teams.

Ideal Background

• 10+ years of product leadership, including 4+ years managing Product Management teams.
• Experience in forward-deployed models or top-tier technical consulting / implementation.
• High technical IQ: comfort with APIs, data pipelines, SQL; understands how data quality affects model performance.
• Extreme ownership + systems thinking; navigates complex stakeholder landscapes from engineers to C-suite.

Role Summary

Scale is building the infrastructure layer for institutional intelligence — the compounding asset that makes the world's most consequential organizations more capable over time. The Chief of Staff to the VP of Product sits at the center of that work.

This is not a chief of staff role in the traditional sense. This person is not a scheduler, a note-taker, or a communications coordinator. They are an extension of the VP of Product, absorbing context across every workstream, making real prioritization calls, and operating at a level of organized precision that makes the rest of the function run faster.

The right person for this role wants to grow into product leadership and understands that the fastest path there is to operate at close range with someone doing the job. They will be in every room, on every decision, and responsible for ensuring that nothing falls through the cracks, including the principal.

What You'll Do

• Prepare the VP for every significant meeting, external or internal: customer briefings, executive reviews, board-adjacent discussions with the right level of context and the right framing.
• Represent the VP in internal workstreams where her presence isn't required but her perspective is. This means you actually have the perspective, not just her notes.
• Drive follow-through on decisions made in meetings: own the action items, chase closures, and surface blockers before they become problems.
• Build and maintain the operational infrastructure that keeps the product org coordinated. Rhythms, comms, templates, and shared context without it becoming process for its own sake.
• Engage directly with engineering leads, PMs, and go-to-market partners with enough technical and product fluency to move things forward, not just relay information.
• Move people without authority. You will regularly need engineers, PMs, GTM leads, and customers to do things that aren't in their immediate interest to prioritize. You get there by being trusted, well-framed, and well-timed, not by invoking the principal's name.

What We're Looking For

Must-Have Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in product management, technical program management, strategy, or a role with real operational ownership - not coordination.
• Demonstrated record of managing complexity: multiple parallel workstreams, competing stakeholder demands, and ambiguous ownership  and keeping all of it moving without dropping threads.
• Extreme organizational precision. Their systems are legible to others, not just themselves.
• Enough technical fluency to hold a real conversation with a platform engineer. Not deep coding, but genuine comprehension of how systems work: APIs, infrastructure, deployment, architecture at a conceptual level and curiosity to learn.
• The judgment to act on behalf of the principal. 
• Strong, precise written communication. First drafts should be clean. Recaps, briefs, and async updates should require minimal editing.
