The successful candidate will join a growing Regulatory Reporting function at QRT, which sits within our Compliance team. You will work alongside the business, compliance, and IT teams. The Regulatory Technology Developer will assist the team in maintaining the integrity of the regulatory reporting processes for the firm and ensure that complete and accurate data is delivered to regulators within the prescribed timeframes.

Responsibilities:

• Your core objective is to manage and develop regulatory reporting systems and controls
• Develop and integrate automation solutions using Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools
• Continuously assess regulatory reporting risks and developments to ensure changes are made in line with regulations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and enhance the technological capabilities of the compliance function
• Ensure the continuous operation and optimization of existing regulatory reporting systems
• Develop and maintain data validation and quality assurance processes
• Identify areas for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Serve as a point of contact for technical support related to regulatory technology
• Engage with stakeholders to address queries and ensure compliance

Your present skillset:

• Polyglot developer with at least 8 years of experience, knowledge of Python is essential
• Understanding of SQL and working with databases
• Experienced in designing frameworks and tools from scratch
• Knowledge of the financial derivative products
• Experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools
• Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills, able to tackle complex technical challenges
• Understanding of modern software architecture and cloud platforms
• Intellectual curiosity to learn new technologies

Your future role within QRT 

The Risk team build and maintain tools to support risk analysis and reporting for QRT’s trading businesses. This includes close collaboration with Risk Managers, Quantitative Traders, and Quantitative Researchers, across multiple asset classes, to ensure robust and scalable risk infrastructure. This particular opportunity will provide significant contributions for our Fixed Income function. 

• Design, build, and maintain production risk analytics tools and data services 

• Develop and support data pipelines and reporting systems used by trading and risk teams 

• Partner with trading desks, risk, and operations to understand requirements and deliver solutions 

• Investigate and resolve data discrepancies, risk inconsistencies, and production issues 

• Improve system reliability, performance, and scalability 

• Contribute to the evolution of risk and analytics infrastructure 

Your present skillset 

• Fixed Income Knowledge 

• • Solid understanding of Fixed Income products, including bonds, interest rate swaps, bond futures, repos 

• • Experience working with trading desks and/or risk teams 

• • Understanding of Trade lifecycle; Risk measures (e.g. DV01, sensitivities, stress scenarios); PnL and key risk drivers 

• Strong Python development skills 

• Experience building and maintaining production systems 

• Solid understanding of:  

• • Data pipelines and data processing 

• • System design and debugging 

• Experience with SQL and databases 

• Familiarity with APIs and data integrations 

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with strong coding ability (Python preferred) 

• Experience in a systematic investment manager frim, trading firm, bank, or asset manager is preferred 

• Vendor or consultancy experience considered if combined with strong Fixed Income exposure 

• Desirable: 

• • Experience with distributed systems, cloud platforms, or orchestration tools 

• • Experience working in cloud-based environments (AWS preferred) and familiarity with services such as EC2, S3 and Fargate 

• • Exposure to containerisation, orchestration, and monitoring tools (e.g. Kubernetes, Grafana) and modern development environments (e.g. CI/CD, Coder)

The Compliance Technology team are responsible for designing and implementing scalable solutions that enable QRT to meet its regulatory obligations and maintain robust control frameworks. This role collaborates with compliance, technology, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and effective solutions that support regulatory requirements, operational controls, and business goals. The successful candidate will combine strong technical business analysis skills with process design expertise. Responsibilities include gathering and analysing requirements, working closely with developers to translate business needs into technical solutions, and ensuring delivery of these solutions into production. The role also includes aspects of Scrum Master responsibilities, ensuring agile practices are followed and delivery is well-coordinated.

Your Future Role within QRT

• Work with Trade Surveillance and Electronic Communications Surveillance teams to gather and document business and regulatory requirements.
• Translate surveillance requirements into clear functional specifications, including alert logic, data inputs, workflows, and control expectations.
• Support the analysis and improvement of surveillance processes, helping identify control gaps and efficiency opportunities.
• Partner with engineering teams to ensure requirements are correctly implemented and tested.
• Use structured query language and Python to analyse and validate trade, order, and communications data.
• Support alert tuning, investigations, and root cause analysis of data or control issues.
• Provide day-to-day support to surveillance teams on data queries and system behaviour.
• Contribute to agile delivery activities, including backlog refinement and sprint planning.

Your Present Skillset

• Experience in technical business analysis within financial services.
• Exposure to trading, market surveillance, or compliance environments.
• Good structured query language skills and working knowledge of Python.
• Understanding of market abuse regulations such as the Market Abuse Regulation and the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive.
• Understanding of Financial Information exchange messaging and how electronic orders and executions flow between trading systems.
• Familiarity with order management systems and execution management systems, and how order and trade data feeds downstream surveillance and compliance controls.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Compliance & Legal Technology builds software that supports compliance controls such as trade surveillance, communications monitoring, regulatory reporting, and related workflows. You will work closely with Frontend and Backend Engineers, as well as Compliance and Legal stakeholders, to deliver reliable user-facing applications used in high-volume operational processes.

Your Future Role within QRT

You will...

• Build and maintain frontend applications using React and Next.js for compliance and surveillance workflows
• Translate complex regulatory and trading concepts into clear, deterministic, workflow-driven interfaces
• Design and implement consistent UI patterns for alerts, investigations, and dashboard-style views
• Integrate with REST APIs, handling asynchronous data, failures, and real-world edge cases
• Contribute to frontend architecture decisions including state management and performance optimisation
• Maintain high engineering standards through code review, testing, and long-term maintainability practices

• Strong experience with React, TypeScript, and Next.js
