Team Overview
PsiQuantum's Applications Software Engineering Team builds tools for quantum algorithm developers: cloud development environments, circuit design tools, and resource estimation systems that help researchers write, simulate, and optimize quantum algorithms for the world's first utility-scale, fault-tolerant quantum computer.
We're hiring a platform engineer who bridges software infrastructure with GPU-accelerated computing, someone who can improve our AWS platform while helping researchers run quantum simulations efficiently on GPU clusters.
Role Overview
We're looking for someone to partner with our existing platform engineer, splitting responsibilities across a growing platform and making it easier for quantum researchers to do their best work.
That platform includes AWS infrastructure, Terraform configs, CI/CD workflows, and the GPU clusters our researchers depend on for large-scale, computationally intensive quantum simulations. There's a real opportunity to shape how all of it evolves.
The right person for this role is comfortable making judgment calls under uncertainty; they will have a lot of latitude, and accountability to match.

Job Summary:
The OS Core Team at PsiQuantum works closely alongside engineers and scientists in the electronics, system architecture, and validation teams and is responsible for building the scalable, distributed, fault-tolerant control plane and operating system for utility scale photonic quantum computers. Our team is responsible for orchestration, scheduling, kernel architecture, co-design, calibration, validation, providing abstractions, systems, and operating software for the immense heterogenous fabric of co-processors, networks, and photonics that are critical to the success of our company’s goal of building the world’s first useful quantum computer. As a Senior Software Engineer, Calibration & Control you will design and implement algorithms, controls, and software that keep our quantum processors in spec 24×7x365.
Responsibilities:
The core of our system revolves around a high performance, scalable graph database which contains critical information to control and manage PsiQuantum computing systems. Your role is to scale and extend the current core database systems to support the massive increase in size complexity of our systems.
Daily functions:
Data systems design and implementation.
Participate in design and code reviews.
Collaborate across software, hardware, and research teams at PsiQuantum.
Testing and maintenance of database software.
Champion and serve as an exemplar of good software development practices at PsiQuantum.
Experience/Qualifications:
15+ years experience with Python or C++ in a system software context.
Design and implementation of large scale distributed storage systems, emphasis on graph databases.
Proven track record of developing and shipping reliable, performant software in a high scale or mission critical context.
Bachelors degree in a technical discipline preferred, or equivalent experience.
Ways to stand out:
Experience in graph database systems such as Nebula, neo4j, Gravlax.

Job Summary:
Quantum applications architects drive research and development of quantum algorithms and lead partnered collaborations on the application of quantum algorithms to real-world computational problems. The applications team is fully focused on algorithms in the fault tolerant regime and is very tightly integrated with quantum architecture development. The scope of the quantum applications team includes development of new quantum algorithms and methods, scoping of use-cases, simulation and analysis of resource requirements, optimization of compiling methods and development of methods for universal fault tolerant logic.
This role is specifically focused on the compilation of quantum algorithms, both in theory and in software. The architect will translate abstract or high-level descriptions of quantum algorithms into explicit constructions, contribute to the instantiation of those constructions in code, analyze their performance using resource estimation and simulation tools, and ultimately optimize the efficiency with which we can run useful quantum algorithms on fault-tolerant hardware.

Job Summary:
Our system architecture team sits at the interface of hardware development, manufacturing, and the quantum architecture to design the first fault-tolerant quantum computer. We are looking for a computational physicist to drive the efforts of developing internal tools for developing tools for designing and analyzing the system architecture in close collaboration with other technical teams.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop software tools and infrastructure to enable development, analysis and tracking of our quantum system architecture.
Contribute to our Quantum Computing system architecture and software system roadmap.
Develop and improve simulation tools that evaluate system models of photonic modules using Fock and Gaussian states.
Contribute to tool development for analysis and inspection of hierarchical multi-scale models of planned systems.
Maintain graph-based models modules and subsystems and infrastructure to ensure consistency and compatibility with up- and downstream models.
Experience/Qualifications:
Degree in Physics and a strong background in quantum optics and quantum information.
Proficiency in Python.
3+ years of experience in software development, with an emphasis on scientific computing.
Ability to collaborate effectively across departments, sites, and time zones.
A hands-on mentality to own challenges and develop solutions independently.
Competent use of collaborative software development tools (e.g., GitLab) is desirable.
Experience with Docker and Postgres is optional, but beneficial.

Job Summary:
This is an internship opportunity under the Quantum Applications Software Architecture team. The intern will work with other software engineers across the company and department to build productionalized software solutions. They will help build and harden an internal automation platform that lets researchers run quantum-application workloads end-to-end, with reproducible lineage and centralized storage.
A major part of the internship is improving the reliability, governance, and usability of the data/compute platform (Databricks + AWS-backed storage), while also contributing to benchmarking and algorithm-adjacent components of the quantum workflow.

Job Summary:
Quantum architects drive research and development of photonic quantum computing architectures, from entanglement generation through to encoded logic and error correction. A full quantum architecture design is obtained by combining many architectural methods, and by considering the details of how they can be integrated in a compatible manner, including the necessary routing, logic, and more. This design is what is required for the System Architecture and hardware teams to produce a complete specification of the system to be constructed. Candidates in this role will work on the definition of quantum architecture designs, and on the assessment of their performance, interfacing with other quantum architects as well as system architects.

Job Summary:

Quantum architecture internships offer a chance to work in cutting edge research to move quantum computing from a theoretical concept to a real-world technology. As an intern you will work with our quantum architecture team to contribute to the development of a full-stack quantum computing architecture. Topics can include theory and modelling of linear optical networks, fusion-based quantum computing, fault tolerance, decoding methods, logical architecture, simulation and modeling methods.
Internships take place through ought the year with durations from 3 to 6 months. We offer placement opportunities in Palo Alto, California (United States), Brisbane (Australia) as well remote positions. Location options will be dependent on the internship project topic.
The internship role requires a challenging mix of creativity, analytical skills, and knowledge in one of the above areas. Enthusiasm for quantum computing is essential!

Job Summary:
Are you eager to revolutionize life sciences using the transformative power of quantum computing? As a Quantum Life Sciences Chemist, you will lead efforts at the intersection of quantum computing, computational chemistry, and biology, solving critical challenges in drug design, biomolecular modeling, and biological systems simulation. By integrating quantum algorithms with established life sciences methodologies, you will pioneer new approaches to address complex problems in pharmaceuticals, biomaterials, and bioinformatics. At PsiQuantum’s Quantum Solutions team, your role will focus on bridging the gap between fault-tolerant quantum computing (FTQC) and established computational chemistry and life sciences tools. You will integrate these approaches with machine learning to explore novel workflows for quantum-informed drug discovery and biomolecular modeling. Your expertise in theoretical and computational chemistry will enable you to connect quantum-computed molecular insights with complex biological systems, driving advancements in drug design, biomaterials, and other critical areas within the life sciences.
This position requires a PhD in computational chemistry, biophysics, or a closely related field, preferably with postdoctoral research experience (although postdoc experience is not mandatory). We are looking for a curious, creative, and interdisciplinary thinker with a strong foundation in computational methodologies applicable to life sciences. The ideal candidate should be an avid reader of scientific literature, possess expert-level hands-on coding experience (e.g., Python, Fortran, C++), and have demonstrated skills in developing and applying computational techniques.
