ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a passionate Backend Software Engineer who is enthusiastic about building scalable and performant backend services. You will be on the team that creates and expands Peloton’s e-commerce presence on the web, retail and other sales channels. You’ll build out the services and the infrastructure that delivers delightful experiences to Peloton’s passionate member community. Your work will positively impact the ability of members to interact and engage with Peloton’s ecommerce platform in new and meaningful ways.
YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON
- Adhere to the highest engineering quality standards to ensure that systems are traceable, reliable, performant and scalable
- Develop new backend features to support the delivery of experiences within Peloton’s products ● Build internal infrastructure and tooling as needed to support product features ● Work within an agile development environment with peer engineers, designers, and product

YOU BRING TO PELOTON
- 4+ years of software engineering experience
- Experience with Java, Kotlin, Python or similar languages
- Experience building and scaling out RESTful microservices
- Familiarity with accessing, querying and writing to data stores like PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, etc.
- Experience with Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, gRPC, GraphQL
- Experience in Unit Testing/Test Driven Development
- Experience in cloud infrastructure like AWS/GCP
- Solid understanding of git workflows in GitHub or similar git-based version control systems ● Support configuring and developing solutions for CI/CD with experience with tools like Github Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI or similar
- Experience developing dashboards and sifting testing insights using tools like Datadog or similar observability tools
- Ability to accomplish complex engineering tasks independently and capacity to work in a high growth, fast-paced environment
- Experience working on an ecommerce platform is a bonus

ABOUT THE ROLE
Peloton is looking for a Senior Software Engineer for our E-Commerce team to help scale Peloton's $1+ billion e-commerce channel. You will be responsible for growing and executing the technical roadmap of innovative features by partnering with your peers in product management, design, marketing, member support, international teams, etc. You should be comfortable moving back and forth between front end and back end, have a passion for technical and operational excellence, and relentlessly championing best practices in a continuously evolving and dynamic environment.
YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON
- Develop on modern front-end web technologies, architectures, and building high performant user-friendly experiences on the web.
- API development experience with Kotlin and/or Python.
- Help to evolve our platform to best in class by providing guidance to the teams in terms of technical strategy and excellency.
- Write understandable, testable code with an eye towards maintainability, scalability and performance. Your code should set the bar for how to approach the next generation of Peloton microservices.
- Conduct peer code reviews with empathy, providing constructive feedback and fostering a collaborative, supportive environment.
- Drive architecture meetings, cross-team dependencies, and design docs to help promote a culture of learning and constant improvement.
- Partner with stakeholders to identify technical trade-offs and to make informed technical and product decisions.
- Support other software engineers by taking part in pair programming and leading white boarding solutions, team discussions, and task breakdown.
YOU BRING TO PELOTON
- 6+ years of software development experience.
- Experience with Kotlin, Javascript/Typescript or similar languages.
- 3+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
- Familiarity with accessing, querying and writing to data stores like PostgreSQL.
- Familiar with deployment toolings/environments such as Kubernetes, Docker, GitHub Actions, etc.
- Strong product and technical mindset.
- Ability to contribute consistently and positively in a high-paced, fast-changed environment.
- Passionate about technology, new ideas, and always willing to learn new things.
- Good understanding of Agile, Lean, DevOps, and SRE principles.
- Acute attention to detail and dedication to quality.
BONUS POINTS IF YOU
- Have experience working with subscriptions.
- Have experience integrating and deploying to managed cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP).
- Have experience with microservices architecture and the backend-for-frontend pattern.
- 1+ years of experience in the financial services industry, e-commerce, credit card and payment related product operations.
- Are able to take a project from scoping requirements through actual execution and delivery.
- Participate in the software engineering community through meetups, conferences, or contributing to open-source projects.
- Have experience migrating a monolithic system to an ecosystem of microservices.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with deep experience building and operating data-intensive systems to join our Datastores team. This role is ideal for a backend engineer who has built and operated production systems that rely heavily on databases, caching layers, and data pipelines, and who is excited to deepen their expertise in scalable, cloud-native data infrastructure.
You will work at the intersection of application engineering and data platform reliability - partnering with service teams to improve how data is stored, accessed, scaled, and observed across Peloton’s ecosystem.
YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON
You will:
- Design, build, and operate backend systems that rely on scalable and highly available data persistence layers.
- Partner with service teams to improve database design, query performance, and data modeling.
- Contribute to automation around infrastructure provisioning using tools like Terraform and Backstage.
Improve developer experience by building self-service tooling for databases and caching systems. - Work on observability, performance insights, and autoscaling strategies for production datastores.
- Contribute to architectural decisions around multi-regional data persistence and global scalability.
This role combines hands-on backend engineering with deep exposure to cloud data systems and platform reliability challenges.
WHAT YOU BRING
We’re looking for strong backend engineers who are “data-aligned” — meaning you’ve built systems where data performance, reliability, and modeling mattered.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience building production backend systems.
- Strong experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, including schema design, indexing, and query optimization.
- Experience working with NoSQL datastores such as DynamoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, or Memcache.
- Exposure to data pipelines, event-driven architectures, or systems that interface with streaming or batch processing frameworks.
- Experience operating services in cloud environments (preferably AWS).
- A strong understanding of distributed systems fundamentals: latency, consistency models, replication, and scaling strategies.
- Experience running or tuning PostgreSQL or Aurora in production.
- Experience with multi-region architectures.
- Exposure to observability tooling (metrics, tracing, query insights).

SENIOR FULL STACK SOFTWARE ENGINEER, DEVICE SERVICES
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer - a strong front end/back end developer - to join our team. You will be working within an agile scrum team and building Device Management features to support every Peloton Connected Fitness Device. You are a hybrid API/web developer who is comfortable moving back and forth between the front and back end.
You are someone who thinks about simplicity and works to provide solutions that reduce the complexity across services. You are team-focused and prioritize collective learning in addition to solving problems. You build collective ownership amongst the team by contributing to code reviews, designs, whiteboarding, and pair-programming.
YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON:
- Work on different technologies across API and the Web within an agile development environment.
- Responsible for iterating on the process, technology, and communication with peer engineers, designers, and product managers on a daily basis to scope, develop and deliver a software experience
- Be a technical leader within the team you work with and within Peloton in general. Able to identify common patterns as well as develop and foster development of reusable components and standards across teams
