Position Overview 

We are developing an innovative educational product designed to support medical educators in teaching medical students. To ensure the highest quality and educational effectiveness, we are seeking qualified medical educators currently teaching medical students from Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom to join our subject matter expert (SME) team. We require 20 SMEs total across three distinct roles. 

Project Duration: September 2025 to April 2026 (with possibility of extension)

Compensation: $80 USD per hour 

Work Arrangement: Remote position based on US time zone 

Contract Structure: SMEs will be contracted through a third-party agency 

Evaluation Schedule: Quarterly evaluations with potential ad-hoc assessments as needed 

Deadlines: Asynchronous evaluations with 5-day to 2-week deadlines (varies by workload) 

Target Candidate Profile:

Medical educators currently teaching medical students from Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom with expertise in the following subject areas: 

• Anatomy 

• Physiology 

• Pharmacology 

• Pathology 

• Cardiology 

• Oncology 

• Nephrology 

• Endocrinology 

Requirements: MBBS/MBChB/MD degree from accredited medical school and 2+ years of medical education experience. Must be currently teaching at an accredited institution in either the UK, New Zealand, or Australia with expertise in one of our subject areas.

Time Commitment: 5-10 hours per week during evaluation periods, 4+ evaluations per year 

Responsibilities: Evaluate and assess AI-generated medical content to ensure it meets the pedagogical needs of medical educators teaching students. Rate content using established metrics including accuracy, completeness, relevancy, and overall usefulness for educational purposes. 

Position Overview 

We are recruiting senior medical education experts to serve as Panel Review Subject Matter Experts for an AI-powered learning platform supporting medical students in pre-clinical training and board exam preparation. This advanced review role provides oversight and expertise for escalated content evaluations. 

Primary Responsibilities 

• Conduct advanced review of escalated content flagged by Evaluator SMEs 

• Apply comprehensive medical knowledge across all basic science disciplines taught in medical school 

• Assess content alignment with USMLE/COMLEX examination standards and requirements 

• Provide authoritative guidance on complex or disputed content evaluations 

• Ensure educational content maintains the highest standards of accuracy and pedagogical effectiveness 

• Complete asynchronous reviews within specified deadlines (5 days to 2 weeks, depending on workload) 

Required Qualifications 

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school 

• Minimum 5 years of documented experience in medical education with current active engagement teaching or tutoring medical students 

• Comprehensive expertise across the full spectrum of topics covered in medical school curriculum and USMLE/COMLEX examinations 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Prior experience in medical education content review, curriculum development, or assessment design 

• Experience with medical board examination preparation or question writing 

Time Commitment 

• 3-18 hours per week during active review periods 

• Availability for quarterly review cycles with potential ad-hoc assessments

About the Role
In this role, you will work closely with Elsevier Health data and content teams to ensure accuracy of content. You will play a critical role in reviewing content that will support clinicians at the point of care and providing as-needed feedback throughout the content and product development cycle. We are only hiring MDs/DOs from the following specialties: Family Medicine, Radiology, Pathology, Anesthesiology, OB/GYN, and General Surgery

Responsibilities 

• Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to create and curate content focused on emerging medical technologies 
• Create, rate, and rank queries based on their relevance, safety, and efficacy, helping healthcare professionals make informed decisions. 
• Review and assess the potential impact of various technologies on medical practice, patient care, and clinical outcomes. 
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in the field of healthcare technology to ensure the content remains current and up-to-date. 
• Provide expert insights and perspectives on the integration of emerging technologies in clinical settings. 

Requirements 

This is a part-time, fixed term PRN role.  

• Terminal medical degree (MD or DO), specializing in one of the following: Family Medicine, Radiology, Pathology, Anesthesiology, OB/GYN, and General Surgery
• At least 2 years of post-residency clinical experience
• Active and unencumbered US-based license 
• Direct point of care experience within the US
• Demonstrated interest and engagement with emerging technologies 
• Be comfortable working autonomously in a fully remote environment, must have proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, and Excel)

• Complete asynchronous evaluations within specified deadlines (5 days to 2 weeks, depending on workload) 

• Participate in quarterly evaluation cycles with potential for ad-hoc assessments 

Required Qualifications 

Candidates must meet ONE of the following criteria: 

• Current PGY-1 resident in a US medical residency program (MD or DO degree), OR 

• Fourth-year medical student from an ACGME-accredited medical school who has successfully passed USMLE Steps 1 & 2 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Prior experience in medical education content review 

• Strong understanding of medical education pedagogy and learning outcomes

• 5-15 hours per week during active evaluation periods
