At Open Energy Transition (OET), we're dedicated to accelerating the global energy transition towards 100% renewable power. Our focus is on creating a global impact through promoting transparency, accessibility, and collaboration in energy planning.
As a software company, OET focuses on the development, provision, and support of open-source software solutions that enhance energy transition planning and decision-making processes. Simultaneously, as an environmental think tank, OET conducts research and analysis, and develops open-source tools and methodologies to drive the global energy transition towards 100% renewable energy!
By combining the roles of a think tank and a software company, OET brings together unique expertise in environmental sustainability and software development to facilitate the global transition to a sustainable energy future.
We have a wonderful, cohesive team of individuals from all over the world, who have brought their skills and passions to Team OET since 2023. Together, we work to achieve our bold mission (and, of course, have fun along the way).
Culturally, we're extremely autonomous and trusting, with high levels of transparency, open-mindedness, and humility. We strive for continuous growth and improvement, while acknowledging the limitations of being... well, human. We're fully-remote, and intend to remain that way!
All ideas are welcome, and communication and feedback flow freely up, down, and to the side at OET. Our managers and Heads of Department seek to remove blockers, provide tooling, and then step back and allow everyone to thrive. Finally, we're very collaborative when we need to be, and equally individualistic at other times. It's all about the balance, after all!
We have quite a flat structure at OET, but we have still organized ourselves into distinct Departments, each with their own areas of focus. However, they all definitely work together towards our mutual goals.
Those Departments are:
