What does a Modern Animal Host do?

• Facilitating member appointments
• Working closely with technology
• Acting as a liaison between our in-clinic team, and our clients
• Ensuring clinic cleanliness
• Staying active, including moving and lifting packages of varying weight
• Identifying local marketing opportunities to drive regional membership growth
• Partnering with Modern Animal’s marketing team to implement local marketing efforts, including but not limited to flyering, facilitating local partnerships, and representing Modern Animal at community events
• Acting as a Modern Animal brand ambassador, including implementing local marketing efforts to grow your clinic membership base as needed
• Living and modeling the Modern Animal cultural vision by encouraging work/life balance, self-compassion, and a blame- and judgement-free work environment

Qualifications for an Internal Transfer:

• Must be in current position at least nine (9) months and be in good standing. Good standing is defined as not being on any active corrective action or having an in-progress performance improvement plan (PIP). The nine-month waiting requirement may be waived and exception will be made by the Hiring Manager for the position.

The pay range for this position is $XX - $XX per hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. As Modern Animal expands our physical footprint, we’re looking for a talented team of Relief Veterinarians to support our current hospital teams in Los Feliz, Encino, Glendale, Studio City, and Pasadena. 

What a Relief Veterinarian does:

• Delivers the highest standard of medical care to all Modern Animal patients
• Sees Modern Animal patients for scheduled and same-day, next-day appointments only, no surgery or dentistry
• Works alongside a hospital team that is empowered and trained to deliver an unparalleled client experience, both in-clinic and virtually
• Lives and models the Modern Animal cultural vision by encouraging work/life balance, self-compassion, and a blame- and judgment-free work environment

Requirements of a Relief Veterinarian:

• Must have active license to practice veterinary medicine in California at the start of relief shifts with Modern Animal
• License must be in good standing with no malpractice or disciplinary actions
• Must hold personal DEA license
• Must maintain personal liability insurance 
• A paid training shift is required before scheduling any relief shifts. This structured onboarding shift ensures that relief doctors are well-prepared to navigate our EMR system and understand general clinic workflows for a successful start.

The pay range for this position is $1,300 - $1,400 per 10 hour shift; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
