Our Reston, VA office is seeking a motivated Research Scientist to join a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and operational specialists. In this role, you will contribute to applied research and development that directly supports real‑world National Security Systems.
As a member of our team, you will work on data analysis, signal and information processing, environmental phenomenology characterization, and advanced algorithm development, implementation, and testing. Initial assignments will focus on undersea acoustic signal processing and array‑based methods, with opportunities to expand into additional domains as projects evolve.
This position is well‑suited for early‑career researchers who want to build deep technical expertise while contributing to impactful national‑security work. You will receive mentoring and hands‑on training from experienced researchers, gaining exposure to modern signal processing techniques and established best practices. This role provides the opportunity to work directly with real‑world operational data whose results contribute to systems that support and benefit our military and national‑security partners.

We are seeking talented programmers with strong computer science, math, and/or physics backgrounds for complex and challenging projects. As a Software Engineer you will be responsible for writing backend infrastructure and frontend web applications for simulation and optimization software that incorporates probabilistic models of physical systems. Project teams range from 2 to 20 people and include a mix of Research Scientists and Software Engineers. Each team member is involved in the entire problem-solving process, from initial concept through data visualization and analysis, algorithm design, exploratory prototyping, software implementation, demonstration, and deployment. Roles within a team are flexible, giving employees space to contribute to their areas of strength, and to develop new skills. The ideal candidate has experience writing well-designed, maintainable, and extensible code.

Our Reston team is hiring a Software Engineer to help build and mature technically sophisticated software for simulation, optimization, and decision support in mission-focused environments. This role is for someone who can work across the stack -- contributing to backend infrastructure, frontend web applications, and the translation of complex technical ideas into maintainable production software. Our teams are highly collaborative, and each engineer is expected to contribute across the full lifecycle of development, from early concept exploration and prototyping through implementation, demonstration, and deployment. The strongest candidates will bring solid software engineering fundamentals, good technical judgment, and the ability to help move capabilities from prototype to operational use.

We are seeking a talented software engineer with a strong computer science background to assist in design, development, integration, testing, and QA of a complex cloud-based software planning system. You will be responsible for writing backend infrastructure and frontend web applications, including the development of APIs and software documentation. You will be part of a distributed development team working primarily on-site in a government lab alongside external development partners and other stakeholders. The ideal candidate has experience writing well-designed, maintainable, and extensible code.
