The Team
McCullough Robertson’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution group provides expert legal services across a wide range of industries, including energy, resources, manufacturing, and government sectors. We assist clients from individuals to listed and large private corporations with complex disputes across an array of areas including insolvency, corporate compliance, defamation matters, intellectual property, white-collar crime, and more.
The Role
Due to a period of exponential growth, we are seeking a talented commercial litigation lawyer to join our renowned Brisbane team. Working in this role, you will collaborate closely with a team of respected partners and seasoned professionals, engaging in high-profile, complex disputes. This role presents a fantastic opportunity to become a key member of a well-respected, supportive team, gain exposure to prestigious client work, and benefit from continuous professional development.
Experience
As the successful candidate, you will be a senior lawyer or junior level Senior Associate with between four and six years of post-admission experience. You will bring a proven track record of success in commercial litigation, having honed your skills within a respected team at a mid to large-sized firm.
Your strong technical capabilities will be complemented by excellent analytical skills and the ability to navigate complex legal issues with precision and confidence. The Role
This is fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic lawyer to gain broad exposure across all areas of our property practice. You will work on acquisitions, disposals and commercial leasing across all asset classes for a diverse client base that includes ASX listed companies, property trusts, private owners and all levels of government.
In addition, the role includes advising developers on mixed-use, residential and commercial projects, including greenfield subdivisions. You will also support private clients and body corporates on a range of property-related matters.
Experience

The Role
We are seeking a talented and motivated front-end construction lawyer to join our leading Brisbane Construction and Infrastructure team. Working closely with our experienced partners and lawyers, you will provide practical and commercially focused advice to government and private sector clients on the procurement, structuring and delivery of major infrastructure, energy and resources projects.
This role offers exposure to complex and high-value projects from the outset, including transport, roads, water and waste, mining infrastructure, rail and port facilities, airports, education facilities and renewable energy developments. You will assist in drafting and negotiating sophisticated project agreements, advising on procurement strategies, risk allocation and contract administration, and supporting clients through all stages of project delivery.
You will join a highly collaborative and technically strong team where partners are hands-on and invested in mentoring junior lawyers. Experience

We are seeking a Senior Associate with strong construction dispute resolution experience to join our expanding team. Our practice covers all facets of contentious construction disputes, including litigation, domestic and international arbitrations, contractual dispute resolution processes, and Security of Payment adjudications. Additionally, we provide clients with strategic advice to support successful project delivery.

The Role
Due to our success in building the practice and an increased volume of work, we are actively recruiting for a mid to senior level lawyer to join our high-performing practice. As a key member of the team, you will collaborate closely with our partners and have the chance to play a role in the management of client relationships and team development.
Working in this role, your primary focus will be acting for defendants in personal injury claims, particularly in the area of abuse claims, but also in other commercial sectors. You will also work across an array of other legal matters including public liability, workers compensation appeals, property damage, policy interpretation, coverage litigation, and general insurance and contractual matters. You will have the opportunity to develop close relationships with your clients which include key players in construction, resources, agribusiness, property ownership, not-for-profit, technology, and infrastructure, and to refine your business development skills.

Experience
As the successful candidate, you will be a driven and technically excellent mid to senior level lawyer with a minimum of three years post-admission experience. You will have a passion for insurance law and a clear ambition to advance your career in this field. A background in personal injury claims is essential, particularly within the defendant space, however we are also open to hearing from candidates with experience in plaintiff work eager to make the transition.
