• Domain Strategy & Execution: Define and drive the long-term engineering strategy for the Growth domain aligned with company’s and areas’ OKRs. Own the end to end growth funnel including engagement, retention, and expansion with clear accountability for conversion improvements and experiment velocity.
• Product & Stakeholder Partnership: Act as the engineering counterpart to Product, Design, Mobile, and Analytics leadership for the domain. Co-own monetization surfaces such as paywalls, packaging exposure, and expansion flows in close partnership with Billing and Finance teams. For New York City-based hires only: Compensation Range: $197,000-$236,000 base salary, subject to standard withholding and applicable taxes. You’ll need:

• 5+ years of commercial Python development in production environments.
• Strong expertise in modern Python frameworks (FastAPI preferred; Django/Flask acceptable).
• Solid experience designing and integrating APIs (including third-party services).
• Strong understanding of async programming and concurrency (AsyncIO, non-blocking I/O).
• Experience working with PostgreSQL and large datasets.
• Experience building and maintaining high-load backend systems.
• Strong testing practices (unit and integration tests; PyTest preferred).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Docker.
• Strong ownership and product mindset — able to align with stakeholders and connect engineering work to business impact.

You’ll need:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years of deep, hands-on Python expertise. Strong background in designing and building scalable, high-load, production-grade systems with extensive use of asynchronous programming
• Hands-on experience designing and building REST APIs with FastAPI or a similar async framework
• Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL, preferably PostgreSQL, including query optimization and performance tuning
