- Project Management responsibilities that include conducting and managing all phases of a project from concept through all design phases, construction documentation, specification preparation, bidding, and construction administration.
- Coordinate and effectively communicate with people in other disciplines, with clients, and with jurisdiction reviewers and staff.
- Participate in marketing and business development activities by helping with proposal writing and interview presentations.
- Prepare renderings and graphics for projects.
- Mentor, manage and train Designers.
- Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture or related field of study
- Professional Landscape Architect (PLA) license in respective state.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Sketch Up and Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office and VantagePoint.
- Excellent graphic skills, both hand and computer generated.
- Knowledgeable of local jurisdiction and state permitting / approval processes.
- Knowledge of plant materials commonly used in the region.
- Project Management Experience.

- Efficiently prepare digital and hand drawings as needed to communicate master plan, design elements, and site features.
- Support in writing proposals, change orders and developing fee budgets.
- Create project plans and align project plans with project fee budget.
- Ensure legibility and clean communication of construction documents.
- Demonstrate consistent expertise in technical aspects of construction drawings.
- Provide preliminary internal Quality Control review of plans in coordination with project lead.
- Participate in and may lead client and regulatory review meetings.
- Prepare meeting minutes.
- Develop and/or assist in the development of written specifications.
- Advise client and team on next steps and ensure successful outcomes.
- Independently participate in CA activities.
- Ensure quality of planting design in regional context of the project.
- Execute accurate grading plan.
- Support and begin to lead the Design Studio to develop and advance creative design concepts for clients and projects.
- Support public outreach and collaboration efforts as required by project assignments.
- Conduct project research and precedent studies, ordinance review, and prepare site reviews and analyses.
- Efficiently prepare CAD documentation, project concept design packages, and construction documentation and permit drawing sets.
- Develop and demonstrate accuracy in drawing sets.
- Demonstrate the ability to consistently meet project goals and deadlines.
- Assist in editing technical written specifications.
- Build knowledge around plant materials and understand how to properly specify plant materials for planting schedules.
- Take initiative to explore current graphic standards and building construction methods.
- Build up knowledge of construction and best practices.
- Participate in construction phase services activities with the ability to undertake multiple size projects that range in complexity.
- Collaborate with internal design team of civil engineers, planners, contractors, and client’s consultant teams involved in the project.
- Represent LandDesign in design team meetings and speak confidently to project understanding.
- Participate in the development and enhancement of daily processes and practices in support of project efficiency.
- Train and mentor Designers I + II.
- Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture or related field of study.
- Actively pursuing or have achieved professional licensure.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Adobe Creative Suite and modeling programs such as Sketch-Up, Lumion etc. Microsoft Office Suite and VantagePoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

As our firm continues to grow, we continue to be on the lookout for the next great design leader; you. We are currently seeking a Senior Designer II to join our Civil Engineering team in Orlando. This is an experienced role that requires technical expertise in site design where the candidate will independently manage projects and train Designers at all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management responsibilities that include developing and managing project budgets, schedules, and leading project teams in permitting, engineering and construction activities.
- Prepare design drawings using AutoCAD and other civil engineering design and modeling software.
- Complete required engineering calculations and technical summaries.
- Knowledgeable of local jurisdiction and state permitting / approval processes.
- Perform construction administration related duties such as site visits, field reports, shop drawing review, and respond to contractor RFI’s.
- Able to coordinate and effectively communicate with people in other disciplines, with clients, and with jurisdiction reviewers and staff.
- Mentor, manage and train Designers.
- Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field of study.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Microsoft Office, and VantagePoint.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in respective state.
- Project Management experience.

As our firm continues to grow, we continue to be on the lookout for the next great designer; you. We are currently seeking a Senior Designer I to join our Civil Engineering team in Orlando. Candidates being considered for this role will provide design and technical support to the design studio by applying comprehensive understanding, proficiency in the profession and exercising judgment within defined procedures to solve problems. Candidates should be able to demonstrate proficiency in project ownership and execution while guiding and mentoring Designers I and II.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for executing all aspects of civil site design for complete plans, calculations and reports for projects.
- Coordinating & guiding design tasks of Designer I/II to design & permit projects.
- Direct design adaptations and modifications.
- Complete design work and calculations using computer-aided software.
- Lead project research, coordination, and communication with regulatory agencies to complete permitting.
- Provide preliminary internal Quality Control review of plans in coordination with project lead.
- Represent LandDesign in design team meetings and speak confidentially to project understanding.
- Participate in the development and enhancement of daily processes in support of project efficiency.
- Address construction related submittals/RFI responses.
- Participate in and may lead client and regulatory review meetings. Prepare meeting minutes.
- Assist project lead in meeting project financial and schedule requirements. Assist with contract and change order scoping. May assist with invoicing.
- Collaborate with internal design team including landscape architects and planners, and client’s consultant teams involved in the project.
- Provide excellent customer service to clients.
- Receives minimal instructions on daily work.
- Seeks general instructions on new assignments.
- Train and mentor Designer I and II.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field of study.
- E.I.T. certification required.
- P.E. obtained or in-progress preferred.
- Proficiency with reading construction plans.
- Data analysis and interpretation skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D/Civil Design Software, Microsoft Office Suite and VantagePoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
